Melanie | 1194 comments October Nominations ~ Thrilling Horror

This month’s genre is Thriller or Horror as homage to the biggest holiday of the month. Nominate any YA book that could be categorized as either a thriller or a horror book and is not already on the YA-MA BOOK SHELF.

Rules Reminder:
- Nomination Period: Starts September 7 and will stay open for 7 days or until we have 5 valid nominations.
- One nomination per member.
- Members may second as many nominations as they wish.
- All nominations need to be classified as YA unless the nominating category specifically allows exceptions.
- Books must be first in a series or a standalone.
- Books must be at least 3 months old.
- Books must be available in print and not just ebook form.
- No author promotions allowed.
- The top 5 nominations will be in the polls.

Next Steps:
After nominations, the books will go to a poll for 7 days to determine the winner.

I will start off with Dread Nation by Justina Ireland.

It has good reviews and an awesome cover. If it wins it can jump off my TBR into the read pile.

Laura (llbasaldua) I am reading this one right now The Companion by Katie Alender and it has a very very good creepy factor going on. But honestly all of her books Katie Alender have very good creepy vibes and kind of a gothic feel to them.

The book does look good, but it needs to be @ least 3 months old and it was released last month.

That book does not seem to be available easily. It was not available on Kindle or my local library. It should be a book group members have access to.

Can you nominate another book, possible by the same author?

Melanie | 1194 comments I'm thinking if we don't get @ least 4 nominations by Sunday, we will cancel the October BOTM...
