Joe | 3 comments Historical fiction (I think fiction, fairly factual / documentary). Based in old Europe (Britain? 1700s?). Kings, land owners, Barons, etc. one Baron married one of his serfs (17ish year old girl). Primary story line was this village that had a stone bridge that needed repaired every 10 years or so. There was a young stone mason that got hired to design and build a new bridge. Half way through building the new bridge - the young stone mason was let go for a cheaper worker. The replacement worker did not follow the plans and the bridge eventually needed repaired. Years later the designer returned to town and “proved” that the replacement worked did not follow his plans.

Read about 20 years ago, or more.
