Good evening! Here is the nominations thread for November's Book of the Month and Group Buddy Read.

Just a friendly reminder that it's always a good idea to look over the guidelines if you've never nominated before. Feel free to correlate with the 2020 Monthly Challenges, but it's not a requirement. November's Author of the Month will be Karen Kingsbury, and the Monthly Challenge will be Spell Out "Thanks" Challenge - find out the specifics here here.

Feel free to nominate any Christian fiction book of your choosing. Do consider nominating an author that we've not read lately or at least in 2019 or so far in 2020. Please follow the guidelines below and also make sure to nominate a book that released AT LEAST three months ago (no later than August 2020).

PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES:
-Please do not nominate a book we've already read as a group in the last three years. You will be asked for a different nomination if you do. Find our shelves here:

2020: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2019: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2018 - https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2017 - https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

-Remember that a book must be out for 3 months or more to be eligible for nominations and voting

-Any author is up for nomination, as long as the book you nominate has not been a group read during 2016-2019, however, try not to nominate an author that we've read this year already.

-If it is a book in a series that is not the first book, make sure you know that it can be read as a standalone and doesn't require the previous books being read to understand and enjoy.

-Please note that there may be more reasons that a book is not a good fit for nominations or group members as a whole, whether it be availability, cost, accessibility, etc. The moderators reserve the right to make these decisions. Please know we do our best in making these kinds of decisions, and we're all human. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you for your understanding! :)

Nominations will be open through September 15.

1. Christmas in Winter Hill by Melody Carlson
2. Protection for Hire by Camy Tang
3. Beneath the Surface by Lynn H. Blackburn
4. Masquerade at Middlecrest Abbey by Abigail Wilson
5. Wish by Jake Smith

7.Veiled in Smoke by Jocelyn Green

That's a good one. Camy's suspense is wonderful. I read the series back in 2016 when Camy and I first became friends.

Hi, Christine - this one looks sooooo good, but unfortunately it needs one more month out in the world before it can be read by the group (3 months or more).

Chris | 296 comments I want to read it so maybe we can save until December comes out for nominations!!!

Let me know what month I can nominate the book. It sounds really good and I think we all will love reading it.

Christine, a book just has to be out 3 or more months to be eligible, so a book released this month is fine to nominate for December and beyond. :)

Thanks Beth. I still don't know all the rules. Now what else can I pick?? Did we read Veiled in Smoke? Let me know if that one works??

Carolyn, I believe that’s a general market title, and I’m not familiar with that author to be able to confirm that she writes Christian fiction. Do you have any info about the author?

message 21: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn V | 216 comments I checked her ratings and they were good; but, just ignore the nomination

message 22: by Christine (new)

Christine Indorf | 367 comments Veiled in Smoke (The Windy City Saga, #1) by Jocelyn Green Then I nominate Veil of Smoke. I always wanted to read this book!!

I'm sure the ratings are great - actually I have one or two of her on my to-read list, I just don't think she's a Christian fiction author. :)
