Childrens book. Animals living in double decker bus in forest

Trying to find book for a friend. She read it in the 1950's.
May be a picture book but not sure. A story about a group of animals that take up residence in a deserted double decker bus in the woods.

No, not that one.

:-) It's not "Victoria: The Wednesday Market Bus" or "Is there room on the bus?" They are both too modern. And it's not "A Necklace of Raindrops and Other Stories" either. (They all look like lovely books though!)

I think it's more wild forest animals (mouse, rabbit, fox than farmyard animals) but not positive on that. Sorry I can't be more specific.
