I read this book many years ago and I can't remember the name!

The story line is a young woman dies in a fire and her spirit goes into the body of another woman. The woman has not been very kind in her life and she has an ex that begins to see the woman acting differently - because she is inhabited by another's spirit. I think it's set in the western us - maybe on a ranch or something?
