The bestselling novel about love, loss and hope from the twice Carnegie Medal-winning Patrick Ness.

Conor has the same dream every night, ever since his mother first fell ill, ever since she started the treatments that don't quite seem to be working. But tonight is different. Tonight, when he wakes, there's a visitor at his window. It's ancient, elemental, a force of nature. And it wants the most dangerous thing of all from Conor. It wants the truth.

Patrick Ness takes the final idea of the late, award-winning writer Siobhan Dowd and weaves an extraordinary and heartbreaking tale of mischief, healing and above all, the courage it takes to survive.

Courtney (avidderp) | 6 comments Hey Nadine! So I'm about 20% in and just started the chapter titled, "The Wildness of Stories". I am very pulled into this story and surprised by that as it's not usually my cup of tea, but I wanted to try something new. Here are my thoughts so far below.

What do you usually read then? So far so good, but the line "He let out a long breath he hadn’t realized he was holding in." bothered me a bit lmaO.

Heyy sorry for the late reply. I got to around 50% through the book. My typical book genre is high fantasy/adventure, but I am always down to try new books like this one.

It was a great book. I forgot to mention the author's note, one of the best I've read. Even though the book has symbolism, it's not very confusing, so I like that. I, too, enjoyed this buddy read, and thank you as well! :)
