When Julie is questioned by the FBI in relation to her bosses finances, Julie refuses to cooperate and ends up losing her job and CPA license. A plea to her boss' brother for a job elicits not a job but an offer to help her change her identity and kidnap her brothers and sister from their abusive home and relocate from Florida to Colorado. Renting a rundown house and securing a waitress job are a good start but an attraction to a cop who breakfasts every morning at the diner may put everyone in jeopardy. When bullets begin to fly she wonders if it's her that's the target.

Lots of angst around a depressed cop felling guilty about his partner's death and that partner's deeply depressed bomb sniffing dog. Good start to a series.

I LOVE this series! Ruggle has a good new series revolving around female bounty hunters, so NOT like Stephanie Plum.
