Man I had trouble with this vote. I downvoted most of my votes. Couldn't find any that really spoke to me. Found quite a few I hated. Too many lists to choose from.

Thanks again for the feedback! "For me, it's not about whether an option is added or taken away. It's about whether those major changes are made at a late stage or not. I didn't mean this to be about you and I'm sorry. I just wanted the moderators to know how I felt, having seconded it and then seeing major changes being made.
Anyway, since there ended up being no reference to the Chinese Year of the Ox in the prompt, it should be possible to submit something about that again, whatever happens!
I upvoted outer space, deck of cards, NYPL 125 books and a book about magic.I seem to like outer space books. I have a ton of books about queens that I want to read - fiction and non-fiction. There are still a few books on the NYPL 125 list that I want to read. A lot of them I have read already. I also seem to like magic. I still have some books I want to read that would qualify for the prompt.
I did pick 4 to downvote. There wasn't any I didn't want to get though. I seem to find a book for every prompt. The ones I picked to downvote were just harder for me to find books to fill those prompts.

"A book about a farm animal, or a protagonist whose characteristics resemble an ox.""
I totally agree with Rosemary that in this particular case the prompt was changed so substantially that it no longer resembled the prompt she seconded. I was also surprised to see it so heavily reworded in the survey. And by removing the reference to the Chinese year, the person resembling an ox sounds very random.
I think that prompt should be returned for workshopping in the discussion thread and resubmitted in a later poll with everybody being on the same page.
I will say that we typically remove references to things outside of the prompt, like we did with the "set in a time or place you wouldn't want to live", which referenced the discovery of Antarctica. It's simply for clarity and cohesiveness on the list. We include that information in the weekly thread when we get those up and running, but we don't include them on the final list.
