Things are starting to happen though, Fable has just found Saint and I'm super excited to see whats happened. We are only about 50% through the book so you KNOW something is gonna go down to further along the plot.

Also like... why doesn't Fable just ask (or someone appoint her) dredger for West's crew? like how IDEAL they JUST lost their dredger and Fable literally is one.....

I just realized I never finished updating this thread, lol I finished it a while ago.

(view spoiler)[ I knew Saint wasn't gonna take Fable onto his crew, giving her the Lark made a lot of sense actually. Also like ngl carving the map into her arm was lowkey genius... not that I like condone carving up your literal child but you know, it was a smart move!

Sooo Clove is a alive. wasn't expecting that but not surprised. Poor West is gonna think Fable abanded him or something

Also, is it just me, or is any one else hoping to ee more of Koy? Like he just seemed like a really fleshed out and relevant character not to see again. Idk, I got like really attached to him. I thought it was gonna be like an enemies-to-lovers thing where he was gonna have to help her get off the island. Then when Fable got on West's boat, I thought he was gonna get on with her and the crew was gonna forbid them from killing each other of something idk. It all buildt up in my head, I love West now but still... I'm so curious about Koy and I really REALLY hope he is in Namesake ngl. Finished(view spoiler)[ you’re joking you’re absolutely joking when he said gone I thought dead or something ughhhh oh my God OK first I still don’t ship Fable and West at all but they OK OK what I don’t like also is that she didn’t tell anyone that Saint was there I mean she just literally promised West not to keep secrets and already hid the first secret and then what happened with Zola it’s really unsettling but that man still alive when he was like her father figure right now he is I mean he allowed some thing this horrible to happen to her to be kidnapped and taken on Zola‘s ship put all of that aside why did Auster not look for her why did he not tell West I mean I don’t know I said I thought by this point they would still not trust her fully yet so somebody would be following her I didn’t think she would get herself in this deep trouble you know all in all the writing style is amazing I like it i’m just writing these notes in the matter of the events that sometimes just really bug me but I’m keeping the notes just so I can know what to write in my review later aside from what I mentioned I really liked the book it was really great writing the plot was well written and I really like the characters not the romance much not to relationship with her father just the right amount of drama and the right amount of horrible upbringing if you can say that I’ll just leave the rest for my review (hide spoiler)]

There seemed to be chemistry there. A couple lines in I was just like, yup, yup, I ship it. I love Koy... alas to my disappointment it was not to be. I can somehow understand why he did that to her but still he’s a terrible father and I’m very curious about her mother’s abilities and maybe we’ll learn more about her. I wonder if she’s going to meet West and the Marigold’s crew again. I like the book so far, I find it captivating. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 23-31
(view spoiler)[ I wouldn’t have guessed that Willa and West are siblings but I like the idea and I hope to see more about West’s past. Because he said that he couldn’t care for another and I’m curious about that. Also I wished Fable could have kept her mother’s necklace but she had to trade it for the money. Saint acts like Isolde only belongs to him and he acts as though Fable is just an inconvenience. He cared for her in his own kind of way by sending West to Jevali to make sure she doesn’t starve but he still left her alone on an island immediately after her mother died. I think he didn’t want her to be on a ship with him because he didn’t want Fabel to have the same fate as her mother although he doesn’t show a lot of love towards her so I don’t really know what to think about him. Apparently Zola knew her mother because she worked for him and I think he’s going to cause more trouble. I like that Willa and Fable are a bit closer to each other and that the crew accepts her. I’m really curious about what’s going to happen next (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ He confessed his feelings and they kissed at last. I really liked the tensionat between them and it was so sweet that she went to get his ring back. I liked the conversation she had with her father and I really do believe he loves her and he did those things to her because he thought it was for the best. I’m mad that Zola kidnapped her but I was sure he had to do something bad. I’m curious about the next book and I’m sure West is going to be heartbroken when he found out that Zola took her. Also the kiss underwater was perfect it made me so happy. I didn’t expect to like this book so much mainly because I thought I wouldn’t like books with pirate vibes but it was so good. Sure! However, I currently don't own a copy of the book, and I believe the earliest I can get my copy is on the 10th, so after the 10th would work for me. :)
