Venture to Prince Edward Island

This month we'll be reading L.M. Mongtomery's "Anne of Green Gables," an acclaimed young-adult novel about an orphan who comes of age with her adoptive family on Prince Edward Island. The book has been adapted numerous times in countries around the world, from early films to radio plays, staged musicals, TV series and animation. We'll read the classic book and explore the lasting, international relevance of this young girl's story, set in a farming community in Nova Scotia. This will be my first time reading and exploring the world of "Anne of Green Gables." In starting the novel, I am already enjoying this spunky, loquacious and precocious young girl. It will be interesting to see how this character is brought to life in various media adaptations!
