So I've read the first two chapters and im loving it, so glad to be back in this world. (view spoiler)[ I really like Catalina. She's not Nevada and that's a good thing.

I admit I am getting tired of Catalina's teenage angst over Alessandro. Hopefully she gets over it before the end of the book.

I'm surprised no one's noticed that the body was defaced in a way to make all 4 Primes appear suspect. (hide spoiler)]

Agree with all of this, I'm loving it!

I finished this one in one sitting (ok, more like 2 . . . but dinner was required . . .) and I loved it . . . and it also irritated me. :D Can't wait to see more of your thoughts.

(view spoiler)[It's too bad that implication wasn't deliberate. Such an opportunity lost. I'm not entirely disappointed with the route the investigation took, the Abyss is a neat concept, it just ended up being too straight forward.

That epilogue was so creepy! Grandma Tremaine needs to be killed lol I hope that's part of Catalina's final book.

I'm on the fence about the romance. It's nice they get their HEA but it seems kind of early with one book to go. (hide spoiler)]

I'm finished. I absolutely freaking loved it. Narilka I 100% agree that (view spoiler)[ grandma Tremaine is terrifying and needs to die! I hope Catalina does it but honestly, Rogan might just peel her like an onion.

I really loved the romance, I was rooting for Catalina and Alessandro so much, I'm glad they're together.

Linus still worries me. But I'm glad he's on Catalina's side.

So I read the book over the past 2 days, and I enjoyed it and I didn't... it was very IA... so much so, that I found myself comparing it to the 2nd Kate Daniels book alot... the one where (view spoiler)[Kate meets Julie and takes her places and fights things... and the magic sword... (hide spoiler)]

But then I started to get a bit frustrated with Allesandro (view spoiler)[being retconned into Rogan 2.0... and it really only got worse, by the end (which is what hit a bit of a tipping point for me) (hide spoiler)]... otherwise I enjoyed it, and still want to see what happened... I'm sure I missed some implications in things, since it's been so long since I read the other HL books...

Re:romance: (view spoiler)[that whole consummation scene just showed me how much more willing IA has become to write that kind of stuff, over the years... and why their kids don't read their books, lol... I remember when it took 4-5 books for Kate and Curran to hookup, because they weren't quite comfortable writing that stuff, at the time... how many times can I say "that stuff"? :D (hide spoiler)]

Grandma Victoria (view spoiler)[ unfortunately is not going anywhere until the final book of the final trilogy. She is our "Roland" and is the ultimate manipulative witch that we will have to hate for the remainder of the series. And, it frustrates me. :D She is just *so*( evil and manipulative. And, they are just *too* kind. And, lets not forget the favor Nevada owes the Director. (hide spoiler)]
