I've been wanting to read this series. But wow, 600 plus pages, this would be the only book I read for the month. LOL

Those that have read the others in the series, is there a lot of fillers or is all 600 pgs necessary? How many side stories do they have going?

Here's my take...the first 3 books were good. I liked them. Book 4 was okay, but by book 5 I wished the series would have ended after #3. If it would have ended there, I would have been happy. The series has really good ratings, but I think it just drug on too long. I would recommend reading the first 3 and see what you think after that!

The Clave is still not very smart. You would think they would have learned their lesson about not listening to Clary or Jace, but they are still just doing their own thing and getting people killed.

I’m not a fan of the narrators of this book. The accent doesn’t go with the book. I wonder why they changed them.

Poor Jordan! (view spoiler)[I'm glad Maia was going to break up with Jordan...Even if she never got the chance. I didn't like them together. She forgave him too fast and just went back to the way things were before he attacked her. I liked her speech explaining herself. (hide spoiler)]

Right! I feel the same about Maureen. (view spoiler)[They didn't need to add her to the story to make another plot...They could have just used one of the vampires already in the clan (or whatever vampires are called, lol). (hide spoiler)] It's like the author is grasping at straws to find things to make the story stretch out and interesting.

I was so over it at first but it has gotten better. I first few chapters I was so frustrated.

I like Alec more in this one, too. He’s more of a main character and less of just background.
