Hazel looked at the stream hesitantly. "We could try... and since there's this iodine, we could try purifying the water as well? I don't know..." She said, looking at Ry. "What about you? Do you think we should try the water?"

"Might as well try," Alice said from the top of the tree. "We don't want to die because we were to scared to try and live. I can see a lot of the arena from here," she added. "There's a lot of different areas, but they're not divided into sections or anything, but just blend into one another. We're near the middle of it. The lake looks too perfect to drink from. The terrain hides any signs of any other tributes." Alice began to climb down, much more quickly than she had going up, and swinging the last few feet to the ground.
Hazel shrugged. "Let's go. And again, stick together." The forest was getting eerily quiet now, without the sound of their voices. Every crunch on the ground seemed to reverberate in the air, every breath, every pant seemed to vibrate ten times more than normal. Yet, they kept on walking."Watch out!!!" Hazel screamed as a shadow flashed past them, glinting green eyes glowing in the dark. "What was that...?" The creature had disappeared as fast as it had appeared. "Did any of you catch sight of it?"
"We'd need a container, though," Ry frowned. "I'd say we should filter the water before adding the iodine, though."
"Sure." Hazel fumbled around for some grass. "I'd say we weave this into a sturdy container. Wanna help?"
"Sure," Ry said, plucking a few blades and knotting together into one threadlike rope. He glanced up at Hazel, his fingers working on their own. "You still don't trust me, do you?" he asked quietly.
Lysa pulled up some grass and vines, weaving a large criss-crossing pattern until she had two woven bowls. "Will these do?"
"I only saw a shadow," Alice said. But the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end, a creepy felling that they were being watched by something inhuman seeping into her bones.
Alice kept watch while they made bowls for filtering the water. It was completely filthy, and she was still on edge from the fleeting shadow she'd seen.
"Good," Ry said, nodding. "We just need to filter it...use one bowl for the direct water, and the other for the water with iodine."
Hazel brought out the iodine and dripped a few careful drops into the filtered water. "Guess we'll have to wait for a while." She shrugged.
"Half an hour," Ry said. "We just need to keep a lookout for that long, and then I say we should move. Stay in the same spot, something will come after us."
"Sure. We'll stay alert." Hazel turned to scan the forest. There weren't much movement but she felt a shiver of coldness. For god's sake. stop this hallucination, Hazel. She mentally chided herself.
Lyssandra stained her ears for the slightest sound of movement. She could hear a soft whispering, but was not sure if it was her own imagination.
Alice remained on edge, aware of the eerie silence of the forest around them, and willed the water to purify more quickly. It still looked highly unsanitary to her.
Ry sighed, leaning back - the picture of nonchalance. "So." He said, not knowing what else to do.
Hazel eyed him curiously. "Well, since we don't exactly know much about each other, why not we introduce ourselves?"
"Sure," Ry said, catching her examination. She didn't trust him yet - not enough. "I'm Ry, District One, and I volunteered." He didn't add why, that his parents had sent him into training so they'd have a Victor in the family. Because the cameras were focused on every Tribute, and probably him especially since he was a Career.
"Volunteered?" Hazel asked, raising her eyebrows. "I volunteered as well. For an old woman. Umm, I don't know why though... probably because of my impulsiveness." She said.
"I'm just a Career," Ry said lightly, feeling...something. Some kind of emotion that he'd never really acted on. Hatred. But not for the others - for the words coming out of this mouth. He hated being a Career, hated what had been trained into him. But he brushed it off, knowing it was irrational.
"That's so brave of you," Alice said. "My name got drawn out. No one volunteered for me. I have three younger sisters, and they and my parents were kind of sad to see me go. I have my necklace though," she pulled her silver locket out and showed them. "It has their initials on it. Anyway, someone else go now please," she said, trying not to cry.
Ry sighed. What must that be like, having a caring family and loving home.
"Thanks," Alice said. And then she hesitated before wrapping her arms around Ry. "I'm sorry for you, too."
"For what?" Ry asked, stiffening a bit. He didn't really...do...physical contact. Unless it was fighting.
Hazel gave Ry a look. "Here, we're all tributes. The Capitol's toys. No more no less." She said as she extended an arm. "We'll stick together?"
Alice felt sorry for Ry. He seemed like he needed more family, like he needed someone to care. "I'm in," she said, and looked to the others.
Alice looked to Ry and Hazel for their answer. She watched the iodine slowly purify the water while she waited.
Braylen sits up and realizes surprisingly that he isn't dead. He shrugs and grabs more berries, eating them. He lies back down and falls asleep, just waiting for this whole process to be over.
"I'm in," Ry said after a pause. That was odd - he'd never met anyone so...emotionally open. He had a feeling Eavan would have liked Hazel, if she could like anything.
Hazel nodded. "You'd better be or else watch your back." She gave him a playful punch. "So, I guess the water's safe now?" She picked the liquid up and prepared to take a sip.
"Should be," Ry said, giving her a lazy smile. "And I always watch my back. You never know when my sister might be there." Especially if she had a knife.
Hazel shot him a look and took a gulp. Shuddering, she spit some of it out, her body trembling non stop. "It should be drinkable, it just makes me really really cold... " Her teeth chattered as she shivered, swallowing the rest.
"Oh no, Hazel are you all right?" Lysa asked urgently. "I don't think we can risk lighting a fire. How will we keep warm in the night?"

(I don't know, I think you can message one of the mods??)

"I don't think the water would kill us. It would just bring co-cold." She said, though the weather was warm, she felt as if there were snowy winds, making her skin tingle.
"Don't drink any more. We'll have to find something else. Cold will kill us if we can't light a fire, and we can't risk doing that. Hazel, are you sure that's all it does?" Alice asked cautiously. She was super worried about that water, there was just something fishy about it, something she couldn't quite place.
"I'm sure it won't kill us, the Games just wants us to light a fire and attract other Tributes so there's a fight to watch," said Lyssandra carefully. "Let's just find someone safe to spend the night..."
"Ok," Alice said cautiously, still unsure of her surroundings. "I can't believe it's dark already. Let's find somewhere safe," she said.
"I think that's a good idea. The one I climbed didn't seem to do anything to me. Do you think we should stay in this spot though?" she looked to Lysa.
