This is on my 'to read' pile. I'm aiming to read at least 4 Dickens books this year and this one has a lot of praise from people I know. I'm not sure, however, that after week 1 being Dickens that I want to have another so soon after! I may have a Dickens as a side read later on in the year though if it doesn't fit in to any particular category.I will say though, I've only read A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Writings and I'm presently reading The Old Curiosity Shop and I really like his writing!
I get what you saying! Though my doubt is if I want to get on a +400 pages book so soon after ahaha. I read them all translated but I do remember liking his writing as well!
I also have The Pickwick Papers but I still don't know if I'll be reading it this year. Maybe for "a funny book" week! I was thinking about re reading The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde, it's hilarious!
I read this in high school and hated it. It was 10 years ago so I can't really remember why I hated it. Therefore, I'm giving it a second chance and reading it for week 5.
I just started this one last night (yeah yeah, I know, Week 4 is almost over...don't judge me. :p ) After about five pages I decided to switch to something else. oy.I searched my Kindle for "one" and found some light mystery that I'd downloaded but never read. I'm going that route for this week.
I'm reading this too! I already read David Copperfield, but I don't really remember the story. I'm reading this in german, so I think you can't really compare the writing style, but after 50 pages, I think it's a little bit tiring. I hope it will get better, when he's done with all the character descrpitions.^^
I've only fully read Great Expectations by Dickens and only excerpts of his other books. For him, I find that I enjoy his work when I'm not in too much of a hurry to finish. He really takes the time to describe things.
Lorraine what was it that made you switch? That's great Julia! I hope you are enjoying it!
Tammy maybe this thread can convince you to pick it up afterwards!
Ana, I honestly can't remember his writing style, it's been so long that I've read anything by him.
This is one of my all time favorite books. Charles Dickens is one of my favorite authors. I think I have read almost everything written by him. I am also reading this book for this week (very late).
We're on the same boat Daisie, I haven't started this one yet! This challenge isn't going as well as I thought it would go ahaha
I had started this challenge and then got a new job which was part time but turned to full time and was finishing my last semester of college. Not the best for reading a book a week :) but Adrriana slowly we will get there....or maybe not all the way but at least we tried :)

Has any of you ever read it? Are you a Charles Dickens fan?
