What do you think about oil spills?

Oil spills pollute the water and land and injure birds and other wildlife.
in my town it's the oil capitol of the world and when they have spills in the local river or stream they rarely clean it up and when they do it's always weeks after the spill it's ridiculous!
I feel like the world should care more when they spill oil into oceans. It's polluting the earth and it doesn't help anyone when they let it go unnoticed.
