Slightly dark Suspense. 2 girls with stories so similar you know they're related somehow. Live in different towns? Spoiler ahead.

I read this book probably between 2008-2015. I don't remember much but it is the stories of 2 girls whose story is so similar you know they are related somehow. I believe they are in 2 separate small towns. One of the girls (SPOILER ALERT) you learn later had secretly killed her baby at birth (I think by drowning the baby in a river outside her house at night). Appreciate any comments.

I always thought for adults because it had a dark feel. But, I think the girls are teenage so maybe it is young adult. Wish I could remember more.
