Becoming Us - Revelation of Certain Non-profits

Michelle Obama brings to light a topic that is somewhat of a Catch-22 in the non-profit realm, and that is the fact that SOME of the organizations are led by people who are "bighearted, tirelessly passionate..." but also have their "virtue discreetly written by privilege." (pg.177)

Other than pecuniary advantages, what are some of the differences (positive and negative) that the "privileged" driven non-profits have over a grass-roots nonprofit without the financial support?

To see the journey is incredible!
We often hear the term “overnight success.” While reading this book it is CRYSTAL CLEAR that there is no such thing.
Success takes time, and is actually measured by the successor.
This is truly an inspirational read.

Grassroots org have to work harder in the sense that employees likely wear multiple hats because the funding isn't there. It may also be harder to find talent because of a lack of resources to pay them.
