Amanda (misterfive) | 202 comments So in another forum I'm on, the discussion of viruses and smell sensitivity came up, and someone remembered reading a sci f book about a pandemic that increased smell sensitivity so people could smell as well as dog do. They are now trying to find that book again, so I offered to post here.

They don't remember the title or author of course, but here is what they do remember:

Probably published between 1965-1995.

1st person narrative post-apocalypse of the pandemic increasing everyone's (almost) sense of smell. Protagonist was a young person who had grown up with scientist father who had become a community leader or hero. All survivors fled the cities, wore nose plugs to tone smells down to bearable. End scene of novel involved protagonist walking away from vengence.

We appreciate whatever info we can get!
