Excellent work...that is a terrific introductory read for the Confederate States Navy. On the bad side, this book was written immediately after the war, and because of a lack of records, much of the information is inaccurate. However, alot of it is novel, and helps organize your research work. I call J. Thomas Scharf the "father of Confederate naval history"
