Movie split into two parts?

Do you think it's necessary for the Allegiant movie to be split into two parts? Feel free to explain your opinion.

Not necessary at all. Despite the book length, there is virtually no plot to speak of. It is painstakingly slow and anticlimactic throughout. It is an obvious cash grab by a studio looking to capitalize on the trend started by Harry Potter. The only difference is Harry Potter was the only series whose final movie split was warranted; each copycat since has been just to charge people an extra movie ticket.

Totally agree with Lauren.

The story isn't big enough support two movies. Imo, "Allegiant" marks a lot of time and many topics could've been addressed quicker or left out altogether.

My guess is, the movie makers are going to add to the story to try to fluff it up.

I don't see why it needs to be 2 movies, this was the worst in the series for me

SaraElle Omg, I felt that too! I thought it was just me. Not to mention, the ending is not very satisfying. To me, it felt like it all for naught.

I really hope they don't make it two movies. I think you could cut out the whole middle of the book and have a better movie than the book. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the ending, too, since so many people were unhappy with it.

Nope, I don't think it should be split into 2 movies. I think the book was ok but it was nothing compare to Divergent or Insurgent. If they did split it they would probably just add random and unnecessary stuff to the plot and also change a lot, which usually annoys readers even when they change the parts we didn't like. Nothing big really happens in the book and even though I like Veronica it felt like she wrote this in like 2 days and didn't really read the book herself :(

Despite it being my favorite book in the trilogy, Allegiant is far from a fast-paced book. No matter how much more content you add to the story, we will be presented with two anticlimactic films that will bore the hell out of audiences. The studio cannot justify their decision to split it in two- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows had a lot of stuff going on , Breaking Dawn and Mockingjay had enough, but it's clear that the studio only cares about quantity, not quality.

For good or bad that's just what is going to happen.
The fact it worked and made money $$ with Harry Potter, and to a extreme extent The Hobbit, has guaranteed that's how Hollywood handles third books. I don't really think Allegiant needs it.
I think Allegiant could be a really nice, tightly edited single movie.
