Latasha (latasha513) | 32 comments I finished this morning. I love this book! It’s going on my favorites shelf. I did not expect it to affect me so much but I could just cry & cry. I’ll put more up later this weekend sometime. (Getting ready to go to work). I hope everyone loves it as much as I did. I’m gonna share it with my mom. I think she will like it too.

Wow, well done! I'm about… 25% in? Hahahah. I'm really enjoying it though! I just love the narrative voice of Demdike - it really grounds the book (for me) in the north of England, but without making it unreadable.

I also really appreciate how the "familiars" are presented, as completely unearthly but also just part of the ground.

Latasha (latasha513) | 32 comments Yeah I liked that too. It reminded me a lot of Lasher from Anne Rice’s Mayfair witches. I wonder how much historical research went into that. I would’ve also liked a author’s note at the end of the book as I’m not very familiar with this witch hunt.
