The month of June was named after Juno, a deity in Roman mythology.⁣ She was the goddess of marriage and childbirth. For this reason our theme for our BOTM is “On Motherhood & Family”.⁣⁣⁣

We had a poll with two books from two Asian authors fitting the theme of the month and you guys have chosen.⁣

Our book of the month for JUNE is : “Little Fires Everywhere” by Celeste Ng. ⁣

Here’s the book description.⁣⁣

“When old family friends of the Richardsons attempt to adopt a Chinese- American baby, a custody battle erupts that dramatically divides the town-- and puts Mia and Elena on opposing sides. Suspicious of Mia and her motives, Elena is determined to uncover the secrets in Mia's past. But her obsession will come at unexpected and devastating costs. ⁣
Little Fires Everywhere explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, and the ferocious pull of motherhood--and the danger of believing that following the rules can avert disaster.” — Now adapted into a series starring Reese Witherspoon & Kerry Washington on Hulu⁣

Aren’t you excited to read it with us ? We will start reading on June 1st and have the livestream on the first Sunday of July (July 5th) to discuss it. We will also have discussions throughout the month on the Well-Read Society’s Instagram and Goodreads pages.⁣

As per usual, we are hosting an an INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY* and give one of our members a chance to win the book of the month. To enter the giveaway click HERE
