NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11217 comments This is the story of an introverted teenager, told in the form of letters to an unknown person. (In real life, the author wrote to a writer when he was a teenager.) It starts with his reaction to the news that a friend committed suicide. For most of the book though, he talks about fairly common teenage issues. There are periods of serious depression that he describes in a dispassionate way. I almost gave up on this story several times (honestly, my own teenage story was more interesting), until I started to get hints of a deeper story.

I think this could be a life changing story for some teenagers, and some of the themes are important, so I think it deserves all the 4 start ratings it received. I'm way out of the target demographic, so it was rather boring for me, thus 3 stars. 22 people gave this book comedy tags, but some of the content is depressing. I didn't laugh much, but I did smile at the car scenes, I remember exhilarating drives with the music blaring - Queen not Heroes.
