Selena (sailorstar165) | 45 comments Just wanted to share a Youtube channel I absolutely love: Overly Sarcastic Productions

It is just sarcastic (and very informative) summaries of history and literature, and I highly recommend finding your favorite books, myths, historical events, etc. and having a good time

Selena (sailorstar165) | 45 comments Also, since Poe was brought up during our discussion earlier, here's a video summarizing his some of his works! It includes summaries of The Pit And The Pendulum, The Mask of Red Death, The Cask of
Amontillado, and The Tell-Tale Heart. :)

These are great! Thanks for sharing. (I'm super enjoying the Poe video literally as I type this.)

I love listening to Red talk about literature. I really enjoy her Journey to the West series as well, but my favorite is probably a tie between her Tam Lin summary and her Eros & Psyche summary. Also, her depiction of Hades and Persephone in the various myths they show up in is perfect. :)

She also has a bunch of "trope talk" videos where she discusses different tropes in storytelling that are great. Really, I just like everything they do.

Another thing I stumbled across on the internet (courtesy of this twitter post):

In short, Jane Austen characters are loaded

I've seen that chart! Perhaps Emma should open with: "Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and crazy rich."

If ever I write a retelling or reimagining of Emma, that will be my opening line. XD

Hey everyone!

Before everything in the world went crazy, I had requested vacation for next week. Because we still have a full slate of summer reading activities planned, my June and July are going to be as busy as ever, so I'm still taking a little break next week.

If you need anything from the library while I'm gone, email:
askncpl@northcantonlibrary.org.

Be well!

Shelia

Selena (sailorstar165) | 45 comments Wanted to share a few book-related podcasts I'm listening to right now. :)

Apocalist Book Club in which the hosts work their way from the first apocalypse novel to present.

SSR Podcast in which the host and a guest discuss children's and YA lit.

By the Book in which the hosts live by self-help books to the letter
