Joe | 9 comments Just finished this and knee deep into book two in the Perry Mason series. If you have even a remote interest in legal drama\mystery, then please make haste and dive head first into this first novel. There is a reason Gardner in the third top seller to date. Discover that reason yourselves!

will do! thanks for the update

Gene While this book is quite good it does not show the full potential of the series: Perry Mason really shines in the courtroom. Here (and in the next couple of books) he managed to solve the problem before the case went to court.

In book two of the series, The Case of the Sulky Girl, Perry Mason makes it to the preliminary/evidentiary hearing and solves the case there.

Really good read.
