That movie is based on a book, and I ordered and read it, but it doesn’t have a narrator and would be too difficult for most elementary-aged children. Thank you for suggesting it, though! Any other ideas? The other one that I could find was only published recently so couldn’t be it ....
Flight toward home might be it. I’ll try to find a copy! Thank you! Flight for freedom was only published this year, so it’s not that one, but it looks like a good book!

Flight Toward Home was a really good book, but unfortunately, it is not the one I am looking for. The one I read talked about the wall specifically and the minefield. And I'm fairly certain there was a balloon of some sort. Any other suggestions?
No, I don’t think that’s it. The book is set after the Wall was built.
