message 1: by Roxanne (new)

Roxanne (roxannej) Name a book you thought you would love but ended up not liking and then name another book you didn't think you'd like but ended up loving.

Thought I would love but didn't was: The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (Montague Siblings, #1) by Mackenzi Lee

Didn't think I'd like but loved it was: Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

message 2: by Party Poison (new)

Party Poison (certifiedkilljoy) I thought I would love spindle fire by Lexa Hillyer, but I didn’t. My friend recommended it and I’d never read a bad book from her, but spindle fire was disappointing. It was really slow and I was expecting more of a sleeping beauty retelling than it was.

I didn’t think I would like Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas because it was from Chaol’s POV and I really didn’t like him in Heir of Fire or Queen of Shadows. I ended up really enjoying this book. I loved some of the other characters and gave up my...uh...(for lack of a better word) hate for Nesryn and Chaol.

I was surprised at how much I love The Book Thief and The Poisonwood Bible! I don’t like historical fiction, but those books are proof that a good narrator makes all the difference.
