Hi Everyone! We are excited to discuss Show Boat at book club on May 20th. In the meantime, we've been thinking about stock characters in stage shows, movies, and books. In the Cotton Blossom's theater troupe Elly plays the ingenue, Frank plays the villain, and Schultzy, the juvenile.

Is there a character type that you see again and again in the shows that you watch? Do you have a favorite type of stock character?

Check out this list to get more ideas:

Jennifer Scerra | 2 comments I really liked learning about the Hardboiled Detective, the Femme Fatale, and the Ingenue when we read noir fiction last year. They really were in every book!

I'm a sucker for a tragic anti-hero.
