Tina (tinamats) | 2665 comments Happy New Year! :) Starting this thread to keep up with tradition, as we've had similar threads in 2014 and 2013. :)

First question: how was your reading in 2014? Did you meet all your goals, your dares? Did you read more than you expected, finished something you're proud of? Or was it a hard reading year for you? (Hey, there are really long reading slumps, it's okay)

The new year is the best time to create a reading plan for the year (if you're that kind of person), or to pick up on challenges, or set goals for your reading. So how are you going to tackle your reading for 2015? Are you going to set a number of books to read? Challenge yourself to read more classics? Read a genre that is totally different that you read? Start a book blog? Attend a book discussion? *nudge nudge* :D

If you're not that kind of person, is there anything different that you'd do this year for your reading? Or what are you hoping for in this reading year?

Share them here! We'll keep this thread open for the entire year so you can check in every now and then, and so we can all encourage everyone. =)

I hope you read really awesome books this year! :)

yani (artandtheories) My 2014 reading experience was just awful. I had this really long reading slump that started late 2013 and seeped through 2014 until late October. IDK man, I guess I could say that it's a good thing I got out of it. Hopefully this year I'll finish 60 books--my goal--or more. I'm counting on Goodreads and the people around here to help me on that and get me on the reading mood :) The best of luck to everyone with their reading challenges! May it be a fun one :D Happy new year, guys.

Kristel (fanarchist) | 489 comments I doubled the books I read from what I managed in 2013, so I'm pretty satisfied with my reading year. Here's to hoping my streak extends to 2015. :)

I've posted about my favorite books read this year here: https://fanarchist.wordpress.com/2014...

Janessa Marie (janessamarie) | 10 comments Hi! Happy new year!

I managed to read 8 books last 2014 starting last September only because I wasn't so busy and suddenly I'm into reading again. For this year 2015, I want to read more books perhaps a dozen or more, I'm not sure, I can't put a certain number to it haha because I'll be busy with the review and board exam for May this year too but I'll surpass my 8 books for sure.

Also, one of my goals is to continue to collect books especially those in my to-read list. Money!!! Please be good to me. :D

Rin (reenahelene) | 7 comments I think I'll challenge myself to read 20 books this year, because I feel that this year is going to be a busy year for me.

kimyunalesca | 92 comments HAPPY 2015!

I'm so glad I reached my reading goal of 50 books last year and doubled it! so happy I managed & got things organized this time round.

As for this year I thought about probably 25 or 50 books when I'm done I'll try to double it again and would like to reduce my tbr pile to zero well that is the hope at least haha!

Angus (angusmiranda) | 4337 comments Because I found my previous annual compatibility tracker in the 2014 Reading Goals and Plans thread, I'll put this year's version here. This is for friends who have at least 36 common read books (with ratings) with me, so please don't feel bad if you aren't here.

Note: the number is 36 because we've had 36 F2Fs already. That should be a decent number to generate a reliable compatibility index? (Increasing this to 48 next year, of course.)

Tina (tinamats) | 2665 comments 2014 stats:
Total books read: 66
Total pages read: 16,254
Total print books: 31
Total ebooks: 35
Total rereads: 2

I surpassed my 52 book challenge, read only one classic out of 5, and I lost count at all the Filipino books I read last year. It wasn't a stellar reading year because I missed a lot of F2Fs and didn't read a lot of our assigned books, but it wasn't so bad in terms of volume reading. :D

This year, I haven't set any goals yet, except the 52 books for the Goodreads reading challenge. I am thinking of maybe picking up the books I didn't get to read last year from the F2F books, and then that's it. I'm retiring my Required Reading at the blog, so I will just pick whatever I get my hands on on my shelf (and also clean out the TBR pile for books I don't think I will ever read).

Angus: not surprised my score with you got lower...but I will work on bringing that up. Haha :P

message 12: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid (gridni) | 601 comments 2014 reading goals:
Read F2F Books
- I read only 5, and haven't completed the previous years just yet
Dare you to read - Haven't read best and worst (both Alexa's), but I have read Cary's dare
Reading challenge - Have not completed

I had lots of time to read but didn't. :(

2015 reading goals
Read all F2F books this year
Read more books by Filipino Authors
Read recommended, borrowed, gifted books from previous years
Finish 2015 GR reading challenge (brought it down to only 25)

:D

It's quite late to create reading plans for 2015 when it's already the middle of the year, but anyway.. Last 2014, I decided to read 100 books and failed to reach even half of it (I finished 48).

This 2015, my reading goal is 25 lengthy novels. Less but long. I've been thinking of actively pursuing my Wordpress blog but I just could not get to it.

I also want to try out F2F this September (because I'll certainly be reading To Set a Watchman ASAP) or perhaps the buddy challenge in this group. Would be fun to meet fellow Filipino readers.
