I have no medical qualifications, though i like to think i am reasonably media savvy. My gut feeling has been that the contrarian/renegade doctors, such as the already mentioned Dr Buttar and the perfectly named Dr Faust, to name two, have brought some much needed context to this situation.Respiratory flu has been with us a long time, every now and then we get a spike, in rare instances a huge spike. So, in that regard we are in the same position as we have always been, ie at the mercy of the ebb and flow of the various flu’s doing the rounds at any one time. Even the most fit and healthy amongst us can be unlucky and be taken by any one of a number of flu strands that are floating about, year on year. Other strands of the flu do in fact kill a great many people, a fact that many are forgetting to mention. It does seem that the MSM is just shining a spotlight on this one particular strand though, and other statistics that might have given more perspective on the situation have been largely left out of the conversation. In my opinion, the media reportage has been a bit too hysterical. It would of been right to warn people of the danger, but the coverage has been so rabid that it has made me suspicious as to what the motives for this might have been. I think we would all do well to keep an eye on our freedoms and civil liberties when this storm has blown over.
As these so called renegade doctor’s have also said, the death rate figures will almost certainly be a fair bit lower than the current stats being spouted by the WHO, MSM etc. Many people will have contracted Covid 19 and recovered without ever being tested, some might not have even realised that they had even had covid 19, many who have gone to a hospital and been treated have not even been tested.
I think that the death rate will ultimately be less than one percent, once the dust has settled and all avenues have been properly looked in to.

I remain on the fence on it all, because as you say we are not doctors. But just feel it's important to include the voice of contrarian doctors in case they are right.

My take on it: the powers that be want to start making some changes to how we live, changes that we would otherwise not have accepted. I think this is why the fear has been ramped up to such a high degree. You only have to look at the vast majority of the population, terrified but still unwilling to look beyond what the mainstream media is spouting, they are positioned perfectly to be robbed of pretty much anything, and they will accept it, all in the name of a respiratory flu. I think that whatever the origins of the virus, under normal circumstances it would of played out, with little fanfare, largely in the background, and been chalked up to a flu spike.
The fact that the fear level has been cranked up to such a high degree makes me very suspicious and slightly worried about what is around the corner.
I really hope that i end up with egg on my face on this one, i would dearly love to be wrong, and be outed as a buffoon in the coming months, but, i was suspicious about this whole thing from the start, that hasn’t changed as yet.

Italian Study Reveals COVID-19 Death Toll Is Exaggerated https://principia-scientific.org/ital...A new report published in Italy, compiled with help from doctors involved with treating COVID-19 cases, undermines government and mainstream media claims of high mortality due to the disease.
It is published (April 29, 2020) in Istituto Superiore di Sanità: Epidemiology for public health and titled: ‘Characteristics of patients who died positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection in Italy.’ [1]
In summary, these medical professionals report that no more that 3.8% of deaths in Italy could be verified as being from COVID-19.
The most reasonable and accurate claim that can be made is that 96% of those patients in Italy had died WITH COVID-19 (or with comparable symptoms of pneumonia).
Italian recorded deaths, in 60% of cases were accompanied by three or more chronic co-morbidities.
This small group of doctors has been releasing their statistics for two months now, detailing a breakdown of the data concerning everyone who died. They initially tried to convey their findings to the mainstream media and Italian national press but were ignored. It appears authorities were not interested in investigating their warnings of widespread mis-allocation of deaths to COVID-19.

Places revealed not to be prepared, some others were prepared but without the conditions to respond to demands. Turning back like nothing ever happens, or trying to face it without changing not only personal care and behavior but structures, these massive places in contrast with the restrictions of avoiding the masses, the new economy exchange sources and the consideration of passive incomings like recycling methods between the useful enough to isolated existence and what is needed to be sure enough and not an unwarranted mistake by default.

Five key facts are being ignored by those calling for continuing the near-total lockdown.
Fact 1: The overwhelming majority of people do not have any significant risk of dying from COVID-19.
The recent Stanford University antibody study now estimates that the fatality rate if infected is likely 0.1 to 0.2 percent, a risk far lower than previous World Health Organization estimates that were 20 to 30 times higher and that motivated isolation policies.
Fact 4: People are dying because other medical care is not getting done due to hypothetical projections.
Critical health care for millions of Americans is being ignored and people are dying to accommodate “potential” COVID-19 patients and for fear of spreading the disease. Dr. Scott Atlas is the Robert Wesson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, an accomplished physician, and a scholar of public health. For several weeks, Dr. Atlas has been making the case in print and in other media that we as a society have overreacted in imposing draconian restrictions on movement, gatherings, schools, sports, and other activities. He is not a COVID-19 denier—he believes the virus is a real threat and should be managed as such. But, as Dr. Atlas argues, there are some age groups and activities that are subject to very low risk. The one-size-fits-all approach we are currently using is overly authoritarian, inefficient, and not based in science. Dr. Atlas’s prescription includes more protection for people in nursing homes, two weeks of strict self-isolation for those with mild symptoms, and most importantly, the opening of all K–12 schools. Important revelations shared by Dr Stoian Alexov, President of the Bulgarian Pathology Association
high-profile European pathologist is reporting that he and his colleagues across Europe have not found any evidence of any deaths from the novel coronavirus on that continent.
Dr. Stoian Alexov called the World Health Organization (WHO) a “criminal medical organization” for creating worldwide fear and chaos without providing objectively verifiable proof of a pandemic.
Another stunning revelation from Bulgarian Pathology Association (BPA) president Dr. Alexov is that he believes it’s currently “impossible” to create a vaccine against the virus.
He also revealed that European pathologists haven’t identified any antibodies that are specific for SARS-CoV-2.
These stunning statements raise major questions, including about officials’ and scientists’ claims regarding the many vaccines they’re rushing into clinical trials around the world.
They also raise doubt about the veracity of claims of discovery of anti-novel-coronavirus antibodies (which are beginning to be used to treat patients).
Novel-coronavirus-specific antibodies are supposedly the basis for the expensive serology test kits being used in many countries (some of which have been found to be unacceptably inaccurate).
And they’re purportedly key to the immunity certificates coveted by Bill Gates that are about to go into widespread use — in the form of the COVI-PASS — in 15 countries including the UK, US, and Canada.
Dr. Alexov made his jaw-dropping observations in a video interview summarizing the consensus of participants in a May 8, 2020, European Society of Pathology (ESP) webinar on COVID-19.
The May 13 video interview of Dr. Alexov was conducted by Dr. Stoycho Katsarov, chair of the Center for Protection of Citizens’ Rights in Sofia and a former Bulgarian deputy minister of health. The video is on the BPA’s website, which also highlights some of Dr. Alexov’s main points.
We asked a native Bulgarian speaker with a science background to orally translate the video interview into English. We then transcribed her translation. The video is here and our English transcript is here.
Among the major bombshells Dr. Alexov dropped is that the leaders of the May 8 ESP webinar said no novel-coronavirus-specific antibodies have been found.
The body forms antibodies specific to pathogens it encounters. These specific antibodies are known as monoclonal antibodies and are a key tool in pathology. This is done via immunohistochemistry, which involves tagging antibodies with colours and then coating the biopsy- or autopsy-tissue slides with them. After giving the antibodies time to bind to the pathogens they’re specific for, the pathologists can look at the slides under a microscope and see the specific places where the coloured antibodies — and therefore the pathogens they’re bound to – are located.
Therefore, in the absence of monoclonal antibodies to the novel coronavirus, pathologists cannot verify whether SARS-CoV-2 is present in the body, or whether the diseases and deaths attributed to it indeed were caused by the virus rather than by something else.
It would be easy to dismiss Dr. Alexov as just another crank ‘conspiracy theorist.’ After all many people believe they’re everywhere these days, spreading dangerous misinformation about COVID-19 and other issues.
In addition, little of what Dr. Alexov alleges was the consensus from the May 8 webinar is in the publicly viewable parts of the proceedings.
But keep in mind that whistleblowers often stand alone because the vast majority of people are afraid to speak out publicly.
Also, Dr. Alexov has an unimpugnable record and reputation. He’s been a physician for 30 years. He’s president of the BPA, a member of the ESP’s Advisory Board and head of the histopathology department at the Oncology Hospital in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia.
On top of that, there’s other support for what Dr. Alexov is saying.
For example, the director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in Germany said in media interviews that there’s a striking dearth of solid evidence for COVID-19’s lethality.
“COVID-19 is a fatal disease only in exceptional cases, but in most cases it is a predominantly harmless viral infection,” Dr. Klaus Püschel told a German paper in April.

I know this is asking for purely anecdotal evidence, but what have you experienced with COVID19 on a personal level? Know anyone who has had it?I know four people that got it (or were told they got it) and were laid out for a few weeks and all described it as unlike anything they ever had before. They are all adults in their 30s or 40s (not sure their general health prior to positive test). Their description mirrors plenty of others on forums, media, and other venues I've observed.
I won't bother citing journalistic media personalities, but athletes who got it are also coming out and sometimes saying similar things. Freddie Freeman on the Braves is the most recent.

I know about two dozen people who have gotten it or believe they have (a dozen confirmed cases via tests and a dozen others who feel sure it was the virus but didn't want to go to the hospital during the quarantine). Only two had anything severe, one said "it was like the flu on steroids" and that he needed to rest for a week, so all the others I know (including confirmed cases of infection) just said they experienced something like a mild cold and that was it.
But as you say, it's all anecdotal - I think the WHO and CDC have already acknowledged the vast majority of people will only experience very few mild symptoms, right?
Anyway, if possible let's keep this thread for "Doctors and Medical Scientists with contrarian opinions on the Coronavirus", that way we are exhibiting good citizenry by doing due diligence and playing Devil's Advocate...That is also the more scientific way to approach such a situation also, I might add -- real science (as opposed to dogmatic or corrupted/biased science) will ALWAYS seek out and greatly welcome scientists with counter theories to test what's true and what's not...(sometimes scientific academia will use such counter theories to successfully expose and debunk those in the minority, but other times the history of scientific academia has often revealed that those scientists with minority opinions eventually turn out to be correct - even on occasion when only 1 scientist in the entire world initially held such an opinion).
So if possible I'd like for this thread to just be quoting or linking to doctors and medical scientists, if that's okay? That way we'll have a good record IF and when it turns out mainstream scientific academia is wrong or questionable...

Thirdly, it was the crowning of stupidity to claim that someone could have Covid-19 without any symptoms at all or even to pass the disease along without showing any symptoms whatsoever.
