Remember, the quicker we all read and post, the sooner we get a new task.

I'm finishing up my current audiobook right now, I'll start Delivering Dante in the morning - I usually need 1-1/2 days for each audiobook. Actual books (esp over 150 pages) will take 3 days on average.I see some groups are flying through a task per day and I know there's no way I'll be able to keep up that pace. What does everyone else think as far as turn-around time?
If other teams are doing a task a day and we don't think we can compete, let's just do what we can. If you can read your book in 2 days, do it. If it takes 3, that's fine. This is supposed to be fun. :)
hey ya'll I like this author and everything but, since she sorta a new author I can't find any free books that meet the requirements. Since I can't does that mean we have to choose a different author.
I can't find the book a book by her to read for free so we might have to pick new author. Hope I'm not letting anyone down.
@CocoDo you read MM?
Do you have KU? If not, I think you can get a trial membership for free. Have you tried that?
Do you have a kindle? If not, you can download the kindle app and read on any device.
If not, we can find another author. Can you post a few authors that you can read in the next few days?
i can do Sarah Dessen or Lisa Henry.
I've never heard of Sarah Dessen, but I have some Lisa Henry I can read. I need to a reread for this month anyway. :)
Coco, do you have a computer or phone that you can download the kindle app to? They are having a special right now where you can get a trial of kindle unlimited for free for two months, which is a really great deal and would give you access to lots of books for free.
... I've almost finished the Lucy Lennox book.Coco, if you have the Kindle app on any of your devices, and you live in the US you can borrow from me.
Unfortunately the only book on my shelf that I can lend to you is Taming Teddy but it is a wonderful story.

It is hilarious! 🤣

Date Completed: 4/16

How book fits: We chose Lisa Henry as our author
So I did finish the Lucy Lennox book Delivering Dante and it was wonderful! Best for last and all that.Is it Lisa Henry for sure? Maybe I could re-listen to one of the Playing the Fool audiobooks, they're about five hours each.

I think so, I haven’t heard from Coco whether she has a Lisa Henry book available to her. But she said she could read Lisa Henry. But just in case it’s still Lucy, I also finished Virgin Flyer, which was pretty good too. 😊
Completion PostTask:Each player reads a book by the same author.
Book: The Island - Lisa Henry
Read: 4/16
Pages: 332
How it fits: Lisa Henry is the chosen author
I'll send Coco another PM. She's going to have to visit this thread daily or we're never going to get anywhere with this challenge.
Trio wrote: "oh Virgin Flyer got great reviews, I'm looking forward to that one!"are you working on a book by Lisa Henry?
I spent Wednesday listening to the Lucy Lennox audiobook because I thought that's what we decided on. When I found out yesterday it looked like we were going with Lisa Henry I couldn't help it, I still wanted to finish the Lucy Lennox book so that's what I did.I have not started a book by Lisa Henry. My problem for the next few days is I've got two reviews due and both books are pretty long, but I can do audiobooks because I can multi-task (I can listen while I walk the dog and do housework). I own the Playing the Fool series she wrote with JA Rock, each of them is only 5 hours long - I'll just pick one of those and do a re-listen tomorrow.
Sorry - it's 2:00am here & I'm babbling... too much info!
Trio wrote: "how did you like The Island Barbara? Scary, right!?!"Yes very scary and heartbreaking. Torture is so not my thing.

Trio wrote: "oh Virgin Flyer got great reviews, I'm looking forward to that one!"It took me a minute to get into it, but once it got going, I fell in love with the characters. You’ll love it Trio.

I remember that one, it was very hard to get through. So dark and painful.
I'll start one of the Playing the Fool audiobooks this afternoon. We're having a birthday party for Quin in our FB group - if anyone's a fan please come and join us, I'm hosting from 3:00 - 3:15 EST today.
Trio wrote: "yeah, I must be a glutton for punishment because I read The Island twice."Ahhh! Twice! I can’t even imagine. Reading it just the once was like being turned inside out, but I remember feeling like I owed it to the characters and the author to finish it. It’s a great story, but it was very difficult to get through.

Hiii ya'll I will start reading a Lisa Henry book tonight .
just started my book by lisa henry.
After going through the team thread and creating a timeline of issues ongoing in this team, I have removed Coco from the challenge. She just doesn't have the resources, flexibility or availability to participate in a challenge of this nature. So going forward, you will be a team of 3 and tasks will be adjusted accordingly - like I am doing for a couple of other teams.Because of the difficulties, Trio please just post your completion of the Lucy Lennox book. You read it in good faith and I am not going to make you read another book for this task.
I will go ahead and post your second task so you can get started as soon as possible, though two of you are Eastern time.
Here is your second task:4. Read a minimum of
Please make sure you are using the GR Kindle first edition page count! Books can be tagged the generic 'sports' or the specific sport like 'football' or 'hockey'. The qualification does need to come from a tag/shelf though.
~sigh~ I miss sports... ☹️

So is this each person reading 600 pages, or us as a team reading a total of 600 pgs?
MountainKat wrote: "After going through the team thread and creating a timeline of issues ongoing in this team, I have removed Coco from the challenge. I will read

MountainKat wrote: "After going through the team thread and creating a timeline of issues ongoing in this team, I have removed Coco from the challenge. She just doesn't have the resources, flexibility or availability ..."Thanks so much Kat, that's most appreciated.
