Nico Schmitz | 3 comments I read that book about 7 years ago but my dad gave it to me and i know he read it years ago aswell. So its probably about 20+ years old.

The kids were from different countries. China, USA, Germany and Russia. But i think there was one more. I believe their parents were highly political figures or scientists. The kids were kidnapped from the same hotel in which they stayed in with their parents. The parents visited a meeting there.

Spoilers ahead:
The Plot twist is that they weren't on a different planet but on earth. They time travelled to a future earth which was heavily destroyed by a nuklear war i think. And the kids were the last in charge of their countries.

It's a fairly short book. I think it was around 100-200 pages.

Nico Schmitz | 3 comments Yes i really try to remember more. Especially names. But i can't :/
I think the main character the german kid. He definitely was a boy.
The robot spoke to them. Near the end of the book they found something odd. A modern and advanced looking door which lead them to a big underground building. In this building the plot twist was revealed.

Will definitely give your suggestion a go! Thanks :)

Andy | 2124 comments Was it ever translated into English (my rusty German says the title would be "After the Great Fire," right?)

Worldcat isn't showing any English editions.

Ayshe | 4721 comments He seems to be popular author who hasn't been translated in English that much. I found the book mentioned in the "Earth All Along" tropes page: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...
