But this time I read it in print, and it was as fun as the first time. While this one wasn't as good for me as the first one was, there were some delightful moments in it. There is no point in a plot summary because you can find that sort of thing in the blurb or in the many reviews that already exist, but suffice to say that it is as wacky and over the top as the first one was, but with fewer of those things being funny to me personally.

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe isn't a secret--it's located in a time bubble at the very end of the universe when everything ceases, but this is where the novel starts and the first section of the novel is set, it isn't necessarily where the entire novel is set. How can you know if you don't read it? How can you be sure that Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, Trillium and ZB make it out okay and how can you know if and when they arrive if they do leave the restaurant? Hint: this is the second of five books, so the odds are stacked in favour of their ending up somewhere and sometime in the galaxy--after all, everything takes place in the same galaxy and dimension (or does it? Puzzling, isn't it?), but since not all of them are on the same quest or necessarily even on a quest, you have to read it yourself to see. Or hear it on audiobook.
