Mel,
You could also pop over to the Call for Submissions thread in this group. There are a few threads about publishers looking for shorts. Here is on link you can try http://www.stormmoonpress.com/antholo...

Xavier Edwards (xavieredwards) | 20 comments Hello all,

I'm Xavier, an erotica author from the wide brown land down under. I don't write much in the way of F/F, but I do have one story that is shortly to be published (in the next several days).

I seem to be writing my way around the erotica sub-genres and I've been surprised to find that many people who happily read erotica, including some rather dark BDSM material balk at what is pretty much vanilla F/F erotica.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Katy - I don't have a lot of time for groups, but have been ... not bothered, precisely, but disappointed that there is such a disproportionate interest in M/M romance, but there don't seem to be many F/F stories out there, other than rather hardcore stuff. I guess I'm looking for more general books that feature lesbians without it being all about teh sex, ya know? Maybe I'm in the wrong place - I see this is more for romance/erotica. Maybe you can direct me where I should more appropriately go? Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Hi Katy,
I have written some lesbian books actually a series. It isn't erotica, it is lesbian romance, intrigue.

Hi everyone *waves*

Im a avid read of many genes Including Lesbian and bi which are fairly new to me (demons have been battled). But is fast becoming one of my favourite genes.

I have to agree with Katy their are far to many m/m groups compared to f/f.

I look forward to finding more great recommendations for through this group.

Hi all,

I read PNR and some darker erotica. I'm not big on f/f romance but my friend Mischief is trying to convert me.

Woohoo Welcome Hun, Yep always trying to convert you ;o)

message 115: by Nomad (new)

Nomad Hello all, I'm Nomad, and I've been looking for a group like this for a while. I read a lot of PNR, UF and non-fiction and it seems that M/M is VERY popular over there. But... I'd rather read about the ladies, so I found this group.

And in reading these comments I must say that whoever was talking about bisexual erasure in gay media is spot on!

message 116: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Nomad, I think I know you from another board. Welcome!

M

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome to the group Nomad!

I'm a huge PNR fan to :o)

message 118: by Nomad (new)

message 121: by Xavier (new)

Xavier Edwards (xavieredwards) | 20 comments MM, of course we never get around.

We are too proper for that.

:-)

message 122: by [deleted user] (new)

LMAO!!! :oD

Oh I'm sorry you we're being serious Xavier ;o)

message 123: by Xavier (new)

Xavier Edwards (xavieredwards) | 20 comments I don't know about that, MM -- I like to keep them guessing, sometimes even keeping myself guessing.

message 124: by [deleted user] (new)

I do not get around. I'm proper s***. Yap. Maybe that's a bit much here no?

Do we have a mod or r we like free for all?

message 125: by MissyGirl (new)

MissyGirl | 2 comments Hi, everyone! MissyGirl here! I recognize some of you from other groups. I share the same sentiment about f/f....it is overwhelmingly underrated, especially compared to m/m.

Mistik, I was also wondering about a moderator. It feels pretty "free-for-all" at the moment. I am hoping someone will step up to the plate to make this group a huge success. Any takers? Anyone? Maybe some of us could do it together?

message 126: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi MissyGirl,

Welcome.

I'm sure that if you guys are like candy I could make you melt in my hands...

message 133: by Vikki (new)

Vikki (valkkonenvalhalla) Hi everyone, been a bit timid in introducing myself, and very very busy raising five children full time (ages 2-12) with my partner working as a nurse. I'm based in Essex UK, in my 40s, and have transitioned M2F a couple of years ago. Although reasonably 'educated' with a degrees in literature, I still struggle to read whole novels, given the constant distractions of smart phones and various demands from the family. I'd love to read some steamy, maybe bdsm lesfic but I am open to any good GLBTQ. erotic novels. I believe the most erotic novels are those with plausible plugs and genuine 3d characters that you feel you know personally whilst reading the book. Any suggestions most welcome

Cathy Pegau (cathyinak) | 15 comments Hi Vera! Nice to meet you. That DOES sound like a busy household : )

Rebekah Weatherspoon's "At Her Feet" comes to mind in what you're describing. I haven't read it but its gotten some good reviews.

Laz the Sailor (laz7) I'm a fan of the ladies, either F/F or F/F/M, such as In the Service of Women. Hopefully, I'll find some new suggestions here.

message 139: by Lorelei (new)

Lorelei Elstrom (loreleie) | 9 comments Hi All. I'm Lorelei. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm new to the group. Not sure if I really fit in the Erotica category or not. The book I just finished "Owning Regina" has tons of character development and romance. When I think of Erotic, I think of really graphic stuff. Lots of my scenes are extremely steamy and have detailed descriptions of physical sensuality, but that is not the point of the story. It's about two women who fall in love and begin a dark role-playing game. But most of the sex results from their game of mentally exchanging power with each other. The dark stuff is balanced by a really healthy and loving relationship. Would you call that erotica or just romance? Anyway, I'm glad I found this group and I'm excited to learn more about all of you and your writing.

Hi Katy, You wrote this ages ago but I am new to the group and just discovered your post. I totally agree that most of the F/F stuff is too sex heavy and don't feel like real stories. I mean, my own f/f book has a fair amount of sex stuff in it, but I like to think that the story and characters are interesting outside of the bedroom. So glad we see it the same way. ;-)

Hi Lorelei,
I think erotica depends on language and maybe depth of the relationship? (someone set me straight if I'm off here) Yours sounds more like it may be an erotic romance (subtle difference, I know) if it has somewhat graphic/frequent sex but a definite romance aspect.

Like you and Katy, my writing tends to be less erotic, but I enjoy reading it from time to time, which is why I'm in this group ;)

Hi Cathy, thx for the clarification. I've found that some people really have a thing about what classifies a particular genre. There are some distributors that won't take on a book if it doesn't have x number of graphic scenes. I just write what I feel and it comes out naturally. I don't try to include a certain amount of sex. I'm glad there is a place like this were we can all explore all this without judgement. Thx.Cathy - Lorelei

Hi again Lorelei :)

The varying definitions of what's what can make a writer, and a reader, a little crazed :) THIS publisher/distributor says erotica is this, but THAT one says it's that. Take away lesson: Read the guidelines and ratings :)
