I was talking about Opening Moves(seriously, it's making my skin crawl!). But I really liked the Giver. And it was hard to stomach the things they had to put Jonas through! I can't wait to read Gathering Blue.

message 212: by Grace Meredith (new)

Grace Meredith (koreantrash) I know, once I realized that it was a quartet, my heart nearly exploded. I can't believe I haven't read them yet!

Katy H (the_other_katy) | 223 comments Just finished Stunned (The Lucidites, Book 2) by Sarah Noffke , now I'm concentrating on Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore .

I read The Giver for the first time last year too, Stephanie. I thought it was good as dystopian novels go. I need to read the rest of the quartet though - and Wonder too. So many books, so little time!!!

Katy H (the_other_katy) | 223 comments Finished Revived (The Lucidites, Book 3) by Sarah Noffke and just posted my review!
Now I will be able to focus more energy on finishing Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore and at least starting:
Princess of Thorns by Stacey Jay or maybe Partials by Dan Wells (I can't decide, Princess of Thorns is shorter so should be a quicker listen, but Partials has been on my TBR list a lot longer...)

message 239: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty I just started reading Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

Trying to keep an open mind and low expectations for this one as it has been hyped up a little recently and usually I get disappointed when something is really hyped up.

Emily Mach | 65 comments Listening to the last few chapters of Gathering Blue (The Giver, #2) by Lois Lowry I think I read it when I was younger, not realizing it was book #2 in the Giver quartet by Lois Lowry. So I'm re-reading it as I make my way through the quartet. I think it'd be interesting to live in either of the worlds Lowry has created in this book or The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry . I'm excited to see what awaits in the next 2 books.

That's so funny. I just got Gathering Blue from the library, as I'm making my way through the series. I read the book when I was younger too! Didn't realize it was second in the series. Are you enjoying it?

I am enjoying it, there are some times though where I kind of remember reading a part that was meant to surprise me but it doesn't. So the De javu is killing it a little for me, but I can't remember the ending so it still feels like reading it for the first time haha. I'm interested to see what awaits in the other two books of the quarter.

message 243: by Kirsty (new)
