Myriam, I really loved that book and more than I thought because it's kind of MG. The whole series is great! Enjoy!

This has been on my TBR forever and I can't figure out why. I loved the series, but can't get to this one. How is it so far?

Ally The Giver is one that's been on my TBR forever. Can't wait to get to it! But right now, I'm reading Rebels (Safe Lands, #3) by Jill Williamson .

It was good. However, I found myself really disliking Kierran. There was a major cliffhanger at the end. Overall, it was really good. If I were you, I would wait until book 3 comes out because of the cliffhanger.

Macabre Goblin (macabregoblin) Just started Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman
A close friend has been recommending it for years. So far, it's very good - lovely prose, quite funny. Charming.

I picked up Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts , It was recommended by a GR. I don't like a whole lot of Nora's book but this sounds like more drama the lovey-dovey stuff.
If the library buy's In the Footsteps of Anne Boleyn by Sarah Morris then I am gonna be all over that! lol

Katy H (the_other_katy) | 223 comments Just finished Into the Veil (great BTW!) & back to The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner because I need to finish it already!
Then again, I should really be reading Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld but I don't have a copy of it just yet. =(
P.S. I LOVED Cress (The Lunar Chronicles, #3) by Marissa Meyer

message 142: by Ally (new)

Ally I have Cress on hold at the library! Can't wait!

The Uglies sounds interesting, but I'm in the middle of way too many series right now, and I really need to finish them before I start more. Which is sooo hard.

I know what you mean - I'm so bad! I'm probably reading about 9 different series right now...some are just ones that are on hold because the next book hasn't been published yet, but most are just due to the fact that I got distracted by a shiny, NEW book. The really sad part is that I'm nowhere near as ashamed as I should be.

I never even finished The Mortal Instruments! I paid for all 6 books and read 1-5 but the last installment wasn't out at the time, so I read The Infernal Devices and ALL of The Bane Chronicles, but never got around to reading City of Heavenly Fire despite likely overpaying for it. *Ugh*

Exactly. And nobody else understands. Someone gives me a book and says that I HAVE to read it.

"Um, ok. I'll add it to the queue. I should be able to fit it in...um...next March?"

And they think I'm kidding. There's just so many books and so little time. When I look for new books I've started looking for standalones so as not to overwhelm myself.

alicia grant (shesha556) Decided to pick up Crooked River A Novel by Valerie Geary

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin I'm reading 7 books at a time right now. It was 8. I couldn't decide and one was a giveaway. I think I got in over my head. I just can't ever decide on which two or three to read. I'm in a buddy group and that is good for getting stuff off the shelf but I have gotten carried away and am getting a little burned out and stressed out. One of the books will take forever at this rate because it's a 1200 page trilogy!!

Does anyone have an idea of house to just pick two or three when to have over 100 to read and keep getting more!!!

My dilemma! I just want to read everything at the same time. I also participate in a lot of groups, but I've decided to limit my group reads. They can be stressful, especially when you're doing several at once. So I just try to participate when I can!

I guess there's one thing you can do. If you're currently reading a book(or two) but you want some more variety, my advice would be to choose a book that is NOT part of a series. I've made that mistake so many times and just stresses me out because it means I have so many series to finish!

message 148: by Jacque (new)

Jacque | 1 comments I just finished Louise Penny's A Trick of Light, No. 7 in the Inspector Gamache Series. I couldn't put it down . . . .

So far it is my favorite in the series. It helps a lot if you read the series in order. A wonderful author, but if you are a realist, I think it also helps if you either have read a number of murder mysteries or at least have watch a bunch of episodes of Murder She Wrote to condition yourself to the plausibility of more murders taking place in a small town than traffic tickets . . .

Thank you Ally. I just get so overwhelmed. I'm glad I'm not the only one, of course I didn't mean I'm glad you get stressed too :-)

I have a lot of series I read. It's usually not a problem but I have so many books piled in laundry baskets, on counters, you name it. Plus I'm trying to keep up with new ones. Argggg. I haven't been doing a lot of group reads lately unless I already have the book.

The life of us book worms :-)
