Hi everyone, February is already speeding by. I can see that you have been reading a lot. Have you been reading any books that have surprised you?

I was surprised by how much I liked Their Eyes Were Watching God, because it took my a while to get used to the writing style, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I loved the ending, and I am still thinking about it.

I decided to take listen to 2 of the free with your membership audio books on Audible. (I don't normally take them because often I'm not interested.) I picked up the kids book, [book:Beezer
, which I thought was so cute! It was too short but the ending did leave it open for more books.
I also picked up Cut and Run: A Light-Hearted Dark Comedy and I'm a little more than half way through. It's supposed to be a light hearted dark comedy but so far I'm finding it to be a sort of bad high school play.

I just finished [book:At Arm's Length
and loved it. I can't say I am surprised at how much I enjoyed it because I always like anything by this author but I am surprised that this series just keeps getting better. This romantic comedy actually had me laughing out loud!

Thanks Leane!

I am struggling though to get through Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. I think I have started this book at least three times already. Even on this fourth try, I keep putting it down (virtually speaking, I am reading on my KIndle) to read other books.

Is anyone struggling with a particular book this month?

Leticia (leticiatoraci) | 416 comments I read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell a long time ago and just remember not liking it. I usually read 40 to 100 pages in a book and if it deeply bores me or I discover that I don't care at all, I set it aside for awhile or definitely DNF it.

I am struggling with an anthology, Some of the Best from Tor.com: 2019 Edition. The stories are good but so filled up with heavy themes and mostly quite sad... It gets too much when your week is overly busy and you need to rest when reading.

I'm having the hardest time trying to get through The Widow of Rose House. There's nothing wrong with but I'm just not getting in to it. I may wind up DNF'ing, which I had to do, especially on a book I randomly bought while browsing Barnes & Noble.

Thanks Leticia and Leane,

I really expected to eventually get caught in the story of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, considering it has elements that I love: Fantasy and Victorian literature. I am pretty sure I will finish it, because I feel like it is hanging over my head, so to speak. It may take me all year.

I haven't been able to force myself to continue with This Is Where It Ends. The school shooting is heartwrenching enough, but I expected that. It's the terrible person who is the shooter (and some others also), and I mean TERRIBLE long before the day of the shootings. The past is continually interwoven with the day of the shootings, so it's impossible to finish with it and move on. I became so furious I stopped reading a couple of weeks ago.

I completely understand your anger, and I would be too.

For once I'm sticking to my reading plan, though it was kind of a loose plan. That never happens!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to thank you for a great reading month. Even though I didn't finish all the books I wanted to, I was able to read a great deal.
