Kelly (kelly_s) | 17 comments My current 2020 reading challenge is set at 52 books largely because for the first time, I am participating in the Around the Year In 52 Books challenge. I am largely using books from my existing owned TBR to fill the prompts as one of my reading goals for 2020 is to read more books that I already own.

January has been a good reading month so if that continues, I expect that I will raise my 2020 Reading Challenge goal by a few books.

I too am a bit of a stats nerd when it comes to books (although I'm more of a making-lists nerd generally!) I don't track the time I've been reading or method of reading though: what do you use those stats for? I track genre/star rating so I can use trends in what I like/don't like to inform future reading choices so that I'm picking up books I'll enjoy reading and fall in love with, hopefully!

I read an article about the average length of time people in North America read every day so that made me wonder how much time I spend reading a day given that I typically read between 45-60 books a year. So I decided to track that this year.

In terms of method of reading, if you asked me, I would say that I consume my books in all ways - physical, e-book, audible. So again, I thought I would track it and see if it was an even split.

Thanks so much for the comment. I like how you're using the genre/star rating. I've used star rating to try and help me pick books I love but this is the first year I'm tracking genre so hopefully that will help as well.

Glad to meet another stats nerd!
