Even the most closed person starts to open up when he thinks he’s going to die, but when she realizes their traumatic pasts are connected, it’s no longer the elements that have Bastian concerned.

Starting this, I’m too excited and can’t wait. This is one of my favorite books and it’s been awhile since I’ve read it..... Hoping you’ll love it too!!

I mean for all intents and purposes, sure he's an asshole but she really lucked out on being stranded with him because his survival skills are top notch. I mean eww sucking on eyeballs and spinal cords does not sound fun but I guess when it's life or death there's no decision. And now we can understand why he is the way he is and why he turns so much to booze and women. His life has been shit. (hide spoiler)]

Maybe I'd want a few supplies and my dogs but damn he's so useful and come on, her one wish and he granted it. My heart dies. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[It’s pretty funny that bastian is far from my type of hero and yet I fucking love him to death. Maybe it’s the whole shower thing but I still love this damn book so much.
I will say I don’t understand why she doesn’t want to go back or stay on the island especially now that they can get some supplies. Personally I’d be able to give up 99.5% of my life to go live out my days on an island with a man who can survive. I mean also from a different perspective everyday back in reality (as the ending chapters showed us) will be a challenge for him. Be it alcohol or fear that his past is coming back to haunt him or raine. I mean for his peace of mind along he’d be better off secluded. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Having said all that let me know if you are up for the next book. Personally in many ways their story ends here for me. The second book is great don’t get me wrong but it’s mostly, his past, you guessed it, coming back to haunt him. It’s action packed and insane but it’s on a whole different level than this book and it’s more a journey for Bastian to travel alone rather than with raine if that makes sense. Hope you enjoyed this at least and I didn’t steer you wrong!!!!! Sorry for the rant lmao (hide spoiler)]

I did enjoy it and I loved the way the relationship developed and how it carried on. I like the way Raine stuck with him and even fought for him at the end. (hide spoiler)]

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I'm always nervous about suggesting books because you never know how someone will like it. This author also has a book called Transcendence which is just the best book ever. I don't even know how it's so good considering it's all from the POV of a caveman, one who has no concept of speech or talking but it's phenomenal. I highly recommend that one and I'd re-read it with you if I didn't just re-read it in Dec.

As for this book I'm game for the second one whenever you want. I'm a little behind on some BR's but I'm hoping to get back on track this weekend. It will definitely give you more of a look into Bastian's life and you get to see him in action which is a little scary lol

And as for her dad, you're right she could have reacted much differently. I think though because he was not directly involved in his death it's easier for her to take and I mean he did try to intercede but Landon held him back. Had he tried to save her father he would have been killed too so it's a hard situation to judge. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah I hate recommending my favorites too. I also find that books that most people love I don't lol.
