Fantasy with some elements of sci-fi 83k words

In the ruins of a once glorious city, a mage awakens. As the only survivor of the cataclysm that destroyed his entire civilization, he’s forced to adapt. While learning the intricacies of his new body, he’ll carve out a place for himself in this familiar yet foreign world.

The story is in the first person. The main character is not human, nor technically alive - he is undead.
The plot is first about him wanting to integrate into the society, then about reclaiming his heritage.

English is not my natural language, so expect some weirdness and a predilection for latin/greek based words.

The sci-fi elements are mostly toward the end and in the bonus/non-canon ending.
