V (tinyuglyanimal) | 36 comments This is perfect! I have a bunch (and by a bunch I mean a huge mountain) of manga I bought but never gotten around to read. So this challenge is perfect to at least start to read all those. I have another challenge going on already so this first batch is mostly BL. (and not many blue covers, sorry about that.)

Doc (docpersona) | 204 comments I see blue on many of those covers and your book doesn't have to be blue to qualify for the challenge. That is just a guideline to help people choose/inspire things to read(as someone that has a bunch of manga and comics I relate on needing to catch up.) :)

Yeah, okey, some of them are blue, you are right. :) I do like the idea of a color theme each month so I'm gonna try and do that for the upcoming months. That's a challenge in itself. And I like challenges. 8)

I really love the idea of a color theme for the month. It makes it interesting and it's a challenge of it's own too. So I'm gonna try it for the upcoming months. :)

V (tinyuglyanimal) | 36 comments I didn't get much read in February. Didn't get Rising Stars read which is a bummer but ah well, another time. Gonna read volume four of Yokai Rental Shop at least before 29 th. Can't leave the series unfinished, that would be outrageous. (kidding, kidding, not as if I wouldn't anyway, but you know, red and all.) Anyway, I have tons of green ones so that shouldn't be a problem. Time is a bigger issue. We'll see.

Doc (docpersona) | 204 comments Shorter month and we are not as relaxed as after Christmas and New Years but we have plenty of time left to read all sorts of good books (I personally have been re-listening to the Dresden File books while working to be ready for the mid year release of the new volume.) :)

That's true. Well, I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks too. It's kind of easier when you don't have to sit down and actively have to concentrate on the book but can get other stuff done too. But I kind of miss that alone time a manga or GN or for that matter a regular book gives. Ah well, let's get that going in March. :)

I shouldn't get happy someone else has had the same "problem" but it somehow is comforting to know I am not alone.

It was indeed a good month. I've bought The Worlds... whenever they have released a new volume. So, I am eagerly awaiting v14. I think there is a total of 15 volumes so far but it doesn't seem to near an end anytime soon. Not sure if there are scanlations that far. I generally don't read scans if there is an English license. (although, exceptions has been made) How far along are you?

I really recommend High School Debut. It's my favorite shojo ever. Just enough drama, sweet characters and some funny moments.

I think I made it through Vol 3 so far (way behind). I am the same way with scanlations. I won't say never but I will wait a while until it is out in English but if it never comes out in English I might look at them. Especially if it is a series I previously started. Like I need to track down the rest of Crimson Hero.

Manga

I have never heard of Crimson Hero so I googled it. (seems like a fun manga) Yeah, that seems like a tricky one to find. WGFL is still in print so you can buy all volumes new. So that's nice. The second hand market for them seems sparse though.

One of my favorite manga 困った時には星に聞け!1 is actually one that doesn't have an English license and never will get one either. It's too old for that. Unfortunately. So scans are all there's left for that one. Sadly. It's written by Abe Miyuki and she seems to not like American publishers all too much. (Any one's still to pick up Super Lovers. It's a mystery to me why no one has, it's even got its own anime. It can be because of the mangaka of course but there is a German translation and (have been) an Italian one too.)

V (tinyuglyanimal) | 36 comments September

I want to read more graphic novels but honestly, I have no idea where to start. Sandman is on my to re-read list and I still haven't finished Rising Stars. Right now life is a little bit on the sad side, I just found out my cat has leukemia and we have to put her to sleep tomorrow so yeah, I'm not really in a reading mood. But so far I have read some manga at least.

I am so sorry about your cat! I know how hard that is. I pray peace for you, her and all that will miss her. Enjoy your day with her with lots of snuggles.

I can relate. Cats can be annoying pain in the behinds but they are your annoying pain in the behind that kind of wiggles into your heart. I had a cat that was gray and enjoyed sneaking out to sleep on the warm road and survived 3 different car hits just to get Feline Leukemia as he got older. It will be hard but thankfully you can help your pet pass peacefully before they waste away and you can be there with them in the end.

Take your time to grieve and the books will be there when you are ready to escape reality once more. :)

V (tinyuglyanimal) | 36 comments Thank you Doc and Jamie for your kind words.

It’s been a rough week without her. I’m thankful we still have her “little brother” with us. We got him two weeks before she got really sick so there is a worry of course whether he might have gotten it too. The veterinarian that took care of Moon wanted to test Yuki in a few weeks time to find out. So, fingers crossed he isn’t sick as well.

I am hoping for the best. *Big Hug* Although there will be sad times still yet to come it is best to temper these moments with memories of the love and fun you have shared. Eventually the pain will fade and by reminding yourself of the good times those memories will remain strong in your heart.
