The Wind in the Willows is the classic children's book about four friends, Ratty, Mole, Badger, and Toad, who live by the river and have fun adventures. Toad is a bit of a trouble maker with a good heart that is constantly getting in trouble with his love of motor cars. This was a fun read. I was surprised at the wordiness and vocabulary at times. There were certain passages that I had to rewind and listen to again to understand what was being said (I was listening on audio book). I think it would be challenging for many little children today. I do think that they will relate the characters though and laugh at some of the antics of toad. Overall, it was a fun classic to listen too and I am glad I finally got around to it.
