Sad news, thought that I needed to share. He brought us so much of his father's works, who will take up the mantle now?

Just seen the news, and it is sad indeed. I think the Tolkien legacy now passes to one of the Professor's nephews.

Philip Dodd (philipdodd) | 84 comments I was hoping that Christopher Tolkien would outlive the Old Took. Sadly, he did not. We should all be grateful to him for being the editor of his father's unfinished works, from The Silmarillion to Beren and Luthien. Rest in peace, Christopher Tolkien.

Tara | 57 comments I believe Simon Tolkien is taking over, who is also an author, although not in the same vein as his father and grandfather. I fear there are too few men like them left in the world.
