American Gods (other topics)Norse Mythology (other topics)
I love mythology and so Norse Mythology had a good chance.
Add to that an author that can tell a good tale
Add also American Gods that I've read not that long ago and who'd borrowed quite a few of the characters
And we end up with a really enjoyable read.
It was a bit slow at the beginning, but creation myths are a bit like that - the main heros are not around yet, and it's more about setting the stage (although it can be beautiful)
But once Thor and Loki started bickering it was a lot of fun.
Inventive, charming and with echos in so many other works (Wagner's Valkyrie, Lord of the ring mythology, Good Omen's end of the world - or any good end of the world)
I'm really glad I read it and even had to wipe a tear when I read about the ragnarok (the future end of the world and the beginning of a new one)
