That's great Stacy, I have tried a few times to read the book, and I have not been able to get further than a couple of chapters. I will have to try again.

Authors over 100 yrs. ago seemed to have been very wordy, Nathaniel Hawthorne in this book is no exception, and I've noticed it with others from that era. It seems to have been the fashion in writing to take pages to say what modern authors would sum up in a few sentences or a paragraph at most. If you can get beyond that, it was a decent story.
