I read something by her a long time ago. I'm not really a mystery fan, but if you are a mystery fan I think she was probably one of the best.

It seems she puts a new one out every couple of months, like Nora Roberts and James Patterson.

Diane in Australia | 338 comments Veteran actor Orson Bean died Friday night after he was reportedly struck by multiple vehicles in Los Angeles. He was 91.

The “Being John Malkovich” actor was crossing Venice Boulevard around 7:35 p.m. when a “car coming westbound did not see him and clipped him,” Los Angeles Police Department Captain Brian Wendling told ABC7.

A second driver, who “was distracted by people trying to slow him down” then fatally struck Bean, Wendling said.

Bean was just feet from his destination, the Venice Resident Theatre, when he was killed. His wife of 27 years, actress Alley Mills, was reportedly inside the theatre at the time, friends told the station.

Even harder to believe is that she must have been one of the younger ones in the cast. Gary Burghoff is 76. All of the others still living that I searched for are in their 80's. A lot of them are gone now. Of course that is bound to happen when you stop to think that it has been almost 50 years since the show debuted.

And yet the flu kills many more and that doesn't make the news.

message 46: by Lau Maia (new)

Lau Maia Koren,

Flu kills a lot of people and that makes the news regularly but here we're talking about a new virus which means no one is immune to it.

And

"Globally, about 3.4 percent of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1 percent of those infected," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a press briefing.
