No goals for 2016! That would be a challenge for me. Sounds interesting but makes me a little nervous. I am a very goal oriented person. With some encouragement I am in.
That would be great Cindy. Maybe instead of no goals at all, you could have a goal for the number of books you want to read - but which ones you actually read aren't prescribed. Would that give you some flexibility for the squirrel syndrome while maintaining a goal?
haha, the no goals for 2016 wouldn't work for me, I'm lost without a list :P Good for you though, whatever works towards the common goal of having a pleasant reading experience without unnecessary pressure. Good luck for the rest of the year Kassandra!
Thanks Kiwi! I love goals, they keep me motivated...I just tend to have problems with sticking with reading a goal list of books in the time I set out to read them :) I'm learning to embrace the squirrel though and am coming to the realization that as long as I'm enjoying what I'm reading, that should keep me on some sort of track...or so I tell myself anyway!
I have had a serious squirrel problem in September. I made a list of books to read and threw it out. It worked out, no pressure. I am reading what sounds good at the moment, maybe embracing the squirrel syndrome. I have no goals at the moment. Most of them are complete. Might be a preview of 2016. Should we start a no goals club?
I'm wrapping up my last big goal soon, and then I'll be goal free. I'm so torn. On the one hand, I like having goals to direct me to different books I might not read on my own. On the other hand, I like to choosing the books I want on a whim. Decisions, decisions...
Cindy, it sounds like you're having a great squirrel month! I'm definitely up for doing a no goals/loose goals challenge for 2016. Like Chase, I like to have a goal so for 2016 I am thinking of only making a challenge on the number of books read. That will leave me plenty of room to get squirrelly with the actual books that I pick to read. No pressure! What do you think Cindy?
Sounds like a great plan. Count me in. I put way too much pressure on myself for 2015. I have noticed that September has been fun, so far. I should probably set the number of books to read or I might not read anything.

Melissa, you have to check out the movie - 80's movie at it's best! Josh Brolin and Sean Astin before they were famous...a group of neighbourhood kids from the Boondocks (the Goonies) go on an adventure in hopes of finding treasure to rescue their parent's homes from foreclosure.
Zach and I will check it out, this might be a fun one for my 13 yr. old. Thanks!
I'm making some traction today on my widget - the 10 books behind was really starting to scare me now that we're almost in October. Thankfully I discovered some kids books with my nephew!
That's a good idea as well Iasa. I'll have to check out some plays tomorrow!
I'm reading some more kids books today. I know, it's a little bit like cheating but my widget is yelling at me and I can't take the pressure :)
October has been such a terrible month for reading for me. I've had my 7 month old niece with me for a few days and she is allergic to giving me time to read :) I'm really counting on the readathon to get me back on track. Can't wait!!!
Kids books are the freebie in BINGO, definitely the answer to moving ahead quickly! :) Anyways my answer. I'm not doing to good so far with August thru October. Otherwise, you are the best, hanging with a baby niece, AUNTIE AWARD!!!
She's cute and wonderful and well-behaved, but she's not a reader yet! I have some time to corrupt her so I'll be working on that :)Melissa, are you going to join us for the readathon? Perhaps that will bring up your average for October. It's no wonder you haven't had time to read woman, you've been a very busy bee this summer!!!!
I'll look into that right now! Start reading to your niece now with really great children's books. I used to use puppets while reading and was very expressive. All but one are readers!

October has been a rough month for reading but the few books that I have read have been fantastic. Today marks the start of the Readathon and I'm off to a good start with almost half the day left to go.
The new puppy is making my reading progress this month almost non-existent! I need to put in some serious book time over the next 6 weeks to hit my goals for the rest of the year.
