Your enthusiasm is contagious -- I can't wait for the library to open again so I can grab some more books, including The Holdout.
Currently reading Trevayne by Robert Ludlum. I also notice it’s one of his few one word titles, although that may be because it was originally published by him under a pseudonym. He even remarked in an interview that his titles are usually The _______ ________.
Recently finished listening to the intriguing first book in the Stephens and Mephisto mystery series,
The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and on my webpage sandysbookaday.wordpress.com I have started listening to
B is for Burglar by Sue Grafton, a series that I like to dip into once or twice a year.
I just finished A Bad Day for Sunshine
It’s being published later this week. Anyone in need of a lighthearted quirky mystery, this is it. Here’s my four star review:

I really enjoyed this one, too.
I Found You
by Lisa JewellThis novel of suspense interweaves three storylines involving three families in England. There's an amnesiac; a missing man; and a wrong-un.
Good story. 3 stars

Finished
The Institute by Stephen King, loved it, 5stars. Starting
Death Without Company by Craig Johnson.
Just finished:
Sin Eater
by: Megan Campisi
Original premise, but with a mystery that is a bit obtuse. My full review:

New to the group, but glad to be here.I just finished off the third novel in the D.C. Quartet by George Pelecanos ("The Sweet Forever") and have started on the final novel entitled "Shame The Devil".
So finished the guest list and omg 😮 wow.. it completely hooked me and blindsided me... thank god my wedding had no um undercurrents as this one did.. absolutely marvellous.
Finished Bordersnakes by James Crumley. Not among his best works but if you are a hard boiled fan, it might be worth it. Rating - 3/5

Just started Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions by Mario Giordano I was looking for something with some humor and I think this is a good choice.

Welcome, James. : ) It's a lively group here, and if you're anything like me, you'll find many new-to-you authors and titles to add to your TBR list.
I picked up an old copy of a paperback anthology at a library book sale - Stories of Suspense. A collection of very good short thrillers, including Daphne DuMaurier's "The Birds" (nothing like the Hitchcock movie) - also tales by Shirley Jackson, Roald Dahl, Lord Dunsany and Margaret St. Clair's great comic - creepy story, "The Perfectionist."

Welcome and The Sweet Forever is one of the better Pelecanos books. Shame the Devil will be a step down.
The Trouble With Charlie
by Merry JonesWhen her almost ex-husband is murdered, elementary school teacher Elle Harrison is the prime suspect. To add to her troubles, Charlie's ghost seems to be hanging around.
Fun entertaining cozy. 3 stars

When I need a quick, satisfying read, Lisa Gardner has become one of my go-to authors. Finished #2 in her Tessa Leoni series, Touch & Go. Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I love that book, but it's like The Murder of Roger Ackroyd: you can only read it once.

The Foundling by Stacey HallsMy review: www.goodreads.com/review/show/3246909794""
The Soul Catcher
by Alex KavaMaggie O'Dell #3, OK to read as stand-alone. Maggie is an FBI profiler on the hunt for a serial killer. Kava's structure of the book is to alternate chapters featuring Maggie, her partner, her friend, her mother, a news photographer, a cult member, etc. So the forward thrust of the plot and of the tension is continually interrupted. Plus, Kava's descriptive ability is no better than average. 2 stars.
About to begin
Magpie Lane by Lucy Atkins after finishing a book with an amazing climax - I had no idea what was happening until it happened!
Strangers by C.L. Taylor. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and my webpage sandysbookaday.wordpress.com
I am reading Wisteria Cottage by Robert M. Coates. Another book brought to my attention by Nancy. She has yet to steer me wrong. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
The Figure in the Photograph, by Jason Parent. Set in late 19th Glasgow. Interesting from an historical and technical point of view, but quite slow paced as a result. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've got heaps of books left to read in Kerry Greenwood's delightful Phryne Fisher's mystery series. Here's my take on #2, Flying Too High.
4★ Link to my Flying Too High review

Plum Spooky
by Janet EvanovichStephanie Plum #18, OK to read as stand-alone. Stephanie continues her hunt for the latest bunch of FTA's, this time a bit stranger than usual. She's aided by Diesel and Carl. Carl's a monkey. I liked this one a lot, 4 stars.
