I finished reading this book not to long ago. I am in the middle of the series and will enjoy the discussion and what everyone else thinks.
My library's Overdrive site has this available. Am looking forward to the discussion. I love romantic suspense, but I didn't really enjoy the Tami Hoag I've read, so I hope Lisa Jackson is better.Hope all had a nice holiday and plenty of quality family time.
This is not my favorite series that Lisa Jackson has but she is awesome with the suspense aspect. I am really enjoying the series.
If I can squeeze this one into my schedule I am in. I have read a few of her books before I knew they belonged in a series lol. I was introduced to Jackson, Beverly Barton and Wendy Corsi Staub when they wrote a novel together (novel was divided into 3 parts each written by an author) and really enjoyed it.
I think I've read this, but it was awhile ago and I don't remember it. I'll see if my online library has it and get started so I can join in the discussion!
Hoping to start this tonight or tomorrow. Just downloaded it from my library's Overdrive. This will be my second Lisa Jackson book. I recently read Close to Home, which I really enjoyed.
This is a re-read for me but that's ok ...it was awhile ago..looking forward to seeing what others think
just picked the book up from the library today and am really enjoying it so far... up to ch 8. already..
At 40% now. Interesting way that Lisa Jackson has set up the mystery. Can bad guys be good guys as well? (view spoiler) So creepy, but good!
I can't start until I finish a couple of others but I'll try to have it read for discussing by the 15th. You all have me intrigued now!
Well I have this on hold in overdrive along with last months read, lets see which makes it through first! :)
At 66% now. Still trying to guess the identity of the serial killer. But there aren't enough clues yet to zero in on any one person... I think I've eliminated a few of the players now though. I like that it's not obvious and easy to figure out. Keeps me turning pages! Also, for an intelligent woman, Sam does take the most ridiculous chances with her safety. (view spoiler).

Sandra The Narrator is not that bad I have listened to 2 or 3 books in the series. Not nearly as good as Susan Ericksen but decent enough. not boring

Thanks. While I love my audios, I have to have a great narrator. If not, I seem to have a hard time concentrating. Ericksen is perfection!

Alyssa Bresnahan - she was the narrator for the last one I read of Lisa Jackson's (Almost Dead). She's okay...listenable but not one I would look for by name.
I finished it last night. I can't wait to get the next book in the series! Very enjoyable. Both the mystery and romance were really good.
I finished this morning too! Kept me guessing almost until the end. I had narrowed it down to two people. Really liked the book, and I plan to continue on with the series. I'm starting the next one, Cold Blooded tomorrow.
I'm going to go ahead and make this a spoiler zone so feel free to openly discuss the book. I haven't read it yet but will jump in as soon as I do.
Sandra, as I am relatively new here: what happens in January - does the group start Cold Blooded and continue the series through the following months or is a completely different book chosen and it is up to the individual to continue with the series. thanks
We will take nominations for a new Book of the Month starting the 15th, Lorridae. But - if anyone plans to continue the series (& it seems you are), I will open a BOM Author thread for Lisa Jackson & the rest of the books can be discussed there as you read them. I'll do that now. I'm glad you all are enjoying the series. I'll join you as soon as I get caught up.

Thanks, Sandra!
You're welcome...You can start the next book whenever you're ready or plan on one-a-month & see if some others want to join in.

With "Hot Blooded", Lisa Jackson follows firmly in the footsteps of fellow New York Times bestselling authors Iris Johansen and Tami Hoag. An acknowledged master at crafting tales of romantic suspense, Jackson now weaves even stronger threads of tension and intrigue into this pulse-pounding tale.A prostitute lies strangled in a seedy French Quarter hotel room. Miles away, in a rambling plantation house on the sultry shores of Lake Ponchartrain, popular late-night radio host Dr. Samanatha Leeds receives a threatening crank call. Soon, another hooker's corpse turns up. Samantha's ominous caller persists, along with a mysterious female claiming to be a woman from her past -- a woman who's been dead for years. With Detective Rick Bentz convinced that the serial killer prowling the shadowy streets of New Orleans is somebody close to Samantha, she doesn't dare trust anyone. Especially Ty Wheeler, her seductive new neighbor who seems to know more about her than a stranger should.
Someone has discovered Samantha's darkest secret. Somebody is convinced that lives must be sacrificed to pay for her sins. So far, the victims have been strangers. Prostitutes. But as a cunning, cold-blooded killer grows bolder, Samantha wonders in dread if she will be the next to die.
