After spending the vast majority of my life lonely, I came to this town to find answers about my mother, and instead, stumbled upon a secret society full of monsters I never knew existed outside of dark tales.

Now I've built a sanctuary, gotten in the middle of an ages-old feud between various monster factions, and somehow ended up with an ancient, queen-like tyrant targeting me, because my life sucks sometimes.

I don't know how these things keep happening to me. They just do.

Tensions keep climbing, and everyone's on edge while waiting and watching to see what Idun Neopry does next.

In the midst of all that, the secrets spill, the lies unravel, and the half-truths finally come to full fruition. It's been one hellish snowball ride to make it this far, and I'm mostly ready for anything that comes next.

That's a lie, actually. But I'd like for it to be the truth. For now, hoping for the best is all I have. Well, I guess that's a lie too. Hope's not all I have.

I also have a Van Helsing, who can slay a small army without wrinkling his shirt. Then there's a Morpheous, who can toy with my mind in ways I never imagined. I've got a wolf, who makes it a goal to keep me human-ish. And there's a vampire, who enjoys killing and stabbing.

Ancient alphas, old vendettas, super-complicated histories, mass-death threats, and a lot of personal baggage. That's become a Tuesday morning coffee break to me by now.

Like I said, my life sucks sometimes.

To be honest, book five was a real let down. The reasons I’m reading this one is purely so I can finish off the series and I might as well see how it ends.

Everything is suddenly making more sense and the story is unraveling a lot more now than it has during the past few books (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ Overall, I’m really happy with how this series ended and I’m actually a bit upset that there are no more books left. Hyde was a really big twist in the plot, but it worked really well.

The characters have progressed a lot too. Did anybody else notice that?? Violet seemed so naive and innocent when I started reading this a month ago and now she seems so badass.

I’m also really happy that the relationships worked out and that they could all have her at once.

Jasper was a nice twist as well. I was really happy when Shera came back thirty years later, I actually got emotional when she left.

Also did anybody else find it cute how Avery left the knights for Leiza?? (hide spoiler)]

I was wondering if anyone wanted to start a new series by the same author after you finish this?? How about The Dark Side?? I’m already on the second book, but I’m more than happy to do a re-read.

I am enjoying this, still feels like not a whole lot is happening. It was pretty cool when Violet got to go inside Vance's mind but who was that Jack guy? I kept thinking it was Jack the Ripper lol (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Damn I feel so confused. This happened in one of the other books but I was able to fill in pieces as I went along. I’m really hoping that happens again because I’m lost. The ghosts are confusing me as to who they are, the connection to violet and why suddenly everyone is randomly fighting to the death? Have I been spacing out or what lmao (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Ok I think 8 get it. Still feel like that was information overload. So inside Pandora’s box was a “monster” which attached itself to violet. It’s violets second monster and all the ghosts are actually not real ghosts but a sideman of her monster that’s always lit and about. Oh and violet has known all this all along. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I'm conflicted over this. In many ways I loved it but I really hated all the information dumping that came out of nowhere. Also the fact that readers' were kept in the dark didn't read well for me. Especially considering how open and honest it's been up until this book. Still love Aryan, his damn conceited behavior and inner thoughts are almost better than Anna, ALMOST. :) Enjoyed the series overall. (hide spoiler)]

So sadly I just don't think I'm in the zone for the next series but if you wanted to read another RH series let me know I may be up for it :)

(view spoiler)[I definitely agree. Violet's character completely changed especially when we found out she knew about this other monster inside of her. She also knew the truth about the ghosts and was in a way playing her guys. My goodness when she changed into her monster and they were all judging and laughing at her, it was the best because she got the last laugh. I also was sad to see Shera leave so I'm glad she found her way back. I'm still not sure why she left in the first place, but again they all live forever so even a century away would be nothing to them. Also enjoyed seeing their 'son' all grown up. (hide spoiler)]
